Hi i have a hotpoint aquarius wf220 washing machine, the drum will turn untill (it seems) the clothes get wet then the drum cant seem to turn properly, ive checked the belt as it starts the cycle and the belt continues to spin but with out turning the drum any and all advice welcome

when mechine rinses it uses cold water so check filter and pump

hi my trick is .................... WHITE VINAGER ...YES VINAGER ... right get 5 ltrs of white not brown or your cloths will STINK :))) now wip some around seal .... tip 2 ltrs into drum ...and rest into powder capartment .... leave for 5 min ...then put on boil wash ...DONT PUT ANY THING ELS IN ..IE CLOTHS OR POWDER.. it normally gose .. wash through x2 times with powder ect b4 any cloths go in . bsc appliances bristol 07779933829 postal service too.

f05 error pump failure-remove sump from under drum -proberbly find clogged up

sounds as if the drum bearings have gave way was it noisey b4 this

If you remove the lid you will see the element on top of the drum.
There are a couple of thermal cutouts mounted on it which would be the first thing to check.
Also look for the obvious broken wires etc.
Also can you hear the fan running when machine is in operation?

Two possibles for this are aloose balance block or cracked drum spider.The front block is most prone to coming loose.
To check spider rotate drum little by little and pull towards you to check for movement.

Hi, A bleach based cleaner should improve things. It sounds like its a form of mildew , an airbourne fungus that likes damp places. Once bleached it should stay clear for a while. Make sure you rinse it after to avoid damaging your clothes. Hope this helps, Nick.
