Question about La Crosse Radio Controlled Atomic Clock

Open Question

Indeed the model number is WT-3101 8N2. Could you please email or post information about all the different controls for this clock? There is the small hole above and between the MT and CT buttons, the two pins which can be shorted, the rectangular tab below the two pins, and the small grey button above and between ET and CT. I am having trouble synchronizing with WWVB. I followed the instructions, but the clock is off by about 14 seconds fast, compared the time I get from GPS.

I think we're not talking about a WT-3101. What model is YOUR clock?

This site lists several including some desk models on two pages and each has unique downloadable instructions.

If you have not talked to La Cross and if you continue to have the problem, most likely it may be a signal problem. I had a similar
problem with an earlier model and found that it only worked on
the west facing wall as the signal is coming from WWVB which is the NISTtime signal radio station near Fort Collins, Colorado. Get a fresh battery, reset the clock, put it in a west facing window and leave it overnight. If it doesn't work, contact La Cross as above post.

How do I get it out of lock mode

If the model number you have listed is correct, you turn the Child Lock feature on/off by pressing and holding the "Clear/Off" button for three seconds. The instructions are on page 28 of the Owner/Operator Manual.

If your model number is different from the one you have this question posted under, please post back with your correct information so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance.

I hope this helps you.

It's called an "Oven Clock Control" Board; for my model of Jennaire, it was part # 71003401.  Do a Google search on that part number and you'll see what it is.  HOWEVER:  it totally depends on your specific model, as that control board is different across different models.  If you call Jennaire and tell them what you need, they should be able to get the right part for you.  And, as I noted in my last posting, tell them that this problem is rampantly posted all over the internet (which is true), so it's clear that this is a defect and you want a free replacement.  I was successful with that approach even though I was outside the warranty.
And, you can replace this part fairly easily yourself.  Takes a few minutes to figure out how to open up the panel, but once you do it it's pretty easy.
Hope that helps.

Assuming this is indeed your correct model number, I did not see any reference to the word "MUTE" in the manual! If you don't have the manual, you can download it in PDF format here: If you actually have a different model number, please reply to this post with your correct model. GE/Hotpoint probably directed you to press the "HELP" key and see if there is a useful option in the help menus. I would suggest diconnecting the power from the oven via the cord or breaker for a few minutes, then plugging it back in. Sometimes they sort of get their brains scrambled and neds a good reset. If that doesn't fix it, I would suspect trouble with your control panel. We repair the control panels for $32.50 nationwide, but your take on typical in-home service and replacement costs are pretty accurate. I would wonder if an excessive amount of moisture may have gotten into the controls... That can happen when you boil on the stove top without having the hood / exhaust fan running. It can also occur if one sprays a cleaner directly on the keypad instead of just wiping it with a soft, damp cloth. But that can often be repaired, too. Once you've digested this information, fel fre to post back and we can take it from there.
