You probably have a switch in the wrong position or need to reset the unit.

addition goes like this lets say you want to do 2 + 2

the unit will display 4

To subtract

2 +
2 -

test test test

Turn the calculator on.
Hit the "C/CE" button and 0. will display.
Hit the "TIME" button so that the date displays.
Hit and hold "=" button until the month flashes. Now put in your date such as 11182008.
Hit the "TIME" button again so that the time displays.
Hit and hold "=" button until the time flashes. Now put in your time such as 1254. (12:54pm)
Hit "=" button to end.

then FUNCTION then
CLEAR then
ERR or ERROR then press OK(bottom right hand corner of screen)
turn power off then on
