Three weeks ago my refrigerator went out including the freezer. We pulled it out, used our wet/vac and cleaned it out then turned the reset button and it worked fine. A week later it went out again and we reset it and it worked fine for another week. This past Sunday it went out again after resetting, it worked for a few hours and then it stopped and it has not worked at all. I believed it is over 15 years old

Im not sure what reset button you are using / but cleaning it out was good . and if it started running that was good. when it quit the third time . things that would cause this could be the cold control / very common / and at 15 yr old i would replace the compressor relay . that starts it . sometime you can hear it clicking or humming . ( trying to start . . so try the relay .. . and ck for bad connections on old wires to the compressor as the get brittle and burn off .. mm hope this helps .. feed back .. pls

My GE side-by-side is not cooling.

The electronic control board is probably your culprit. These control boards control the compressor, fans and defrost. Look for any burned spots on the printed circuit bout it could be just bad.

I have a maytag plus side by side refridg.. About two weeks ago the freezer started warming up and now is not any colder than the refridgerator side. Also the refridgerator side is now warming up. It...

Airflow around the condenser grill is very important. So you should take off the front grill and vacuum out that area the best you can.

Since this is a gradual warming trend you might have ice build up on your evaporator coils (usually means that defrost circuit malfuntioning). If you remove the food, shelves and back panel of your freezer section, you will be able to see if there is ice build up. If there is, unplug the unit and then use a hair dryer to melt the ice. Make sure you are ready to deal with the ice melt with either spongs and bucket or a wet/dry vac.

GE Profile Side by Side PCF25PGTAWW Ice maker started to leak inside several weeks ago. Ice column formed inside back of freezer and on shelves. Removed ice and turned off ice maker. Refer and freezer...

when you removed the back panel if you look on the right side you'll see a round coil next to the fan you have to clean that out at least once a year,if you get a shop vac you can vac off the coil and then set it to blow and blow the coil out to clean it,if your food is staying clod you don't have a problem, when the machine goes into defrost there's a heater in the freezer that melts the ice off of the coil, when it comes on the temp will get warmer for like a half hour or so until it comes out of defrost and starts to cool again.hope this helps

We have been getting service code 50 for our SubZero -- it;s a 690 model fridge/freezer. I cleaned everything however over last three weeks the error repeats. I reset the board by pulling power from the...

Error code 50 means excessive refrierator section compressor run. Possible causes include: dirty condenser, stopped condenser motor, faulty termistor or an evaporator refrigerant leak. If it is a refrigerant leak it usually shows up as frost or water driplets half way down on the back wall. Clear codes by holding the alarm button in for 15 seconds.

Odor in refrigerator caused by defrosted meats in freezer which sat for 3 weeks

Here's what I would do: take it outside, if it's not already, open the doors, spray the entire interior with oven cleaner and allow it to dry. Then I would hose out the oven cleaner, it should take remaining matter and the stink with it.

Bottom freezer not working

Hi, sorry I do not have any advice to offer. We have the same model. Three weeks ago the red light came on and freezer stopped working. Last week the fridge packed up. We may have been unlucky but I thought it might be worth mentioning incase they were related and your fridge gave up as well.
