Installing drive belt on a Maytag model lde482 Dryer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ufArteqWXk
go here and this should help you.when you put the belt on the ribs are up so the smooth side touches the drum, the easiest way is rap the belt around the pulley, feel and make sure the left side of the belt is in the metal v like bracket, with your left hand grab the right side of the belt and pull it to the left to put it onto the motor shaft while with your right hand you push the pulley to the left at the same time,it's a little different from a regular whirlpool belt but you should get it,if it feels like the belt isn't long enough make sure the new belt is on the old mark on the drum.hope this helps.part number for belt is Y312959

Belt does not go back on with enough tension.

Are you replacing a broken belt? If so then the belt should go flat side of belt in toward drum. Make sure the belt is not in the slight channel in drum put belt from right under guide around idler then insert loop under idler and attach loop to motor. Should end with ribbed side of belt on pulley.

Can't get replacement parts back on Kenmore 60 series dryer.

The belt has groves, right? Make sure the groves go over the motor pulley from the right. The idler pulley is spring loaded. Place the belt around the idling pulley with the smooth side of the belt on the pulley. This should work.

Belt came loose

BELTS DON'T JUST FALL OFF THERE MUST BE AN UNDER LYING PROBLEM.WHEN YOU FIGURE THAT OUT TO PUT THE BELT ON GET ON YOUR HANDS AND KNEES
REACH IN ONE ARM ON EACH SIDE UNDERNEATH THE DRUM WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND GRAB THE BELT (BE SURE ITS NOT TWISTED) WRAP IT AROUNG THE MOTOR PULLEY.
HOLD IT THERE, NOW WITH THE LEFT HAND PUSH THE TENSIONER PULLEY TOWARDS THE MOTOR
THE BELT SHOULD GO OVER THE MOTOR PULLEY FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. SO IF HOOKED UP CORECTLY THE BELT WILL GO DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TUB-AROUND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TENSIONER PULLEY TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR PULLEY THEN BACK UP THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRUM
GOOD LUCK=)
