That sounds right. If it is driven off air, try putting some oil drops in the air inlet and see if it works loose. It may be stuck because it will not continue to shoot if stuck open either

I have the 2 1/2 Hitachi for nailing siding. The nail gun had not been used for a couple of years, but now will only drive the nail half way in. Sounds like an air leak when driving the nail. I have...

Remove the nails and air supply. With side door open notice position of driver. Driver should be at top position with tip not visible. If driver is down and it moves within cylinder when you tilt nose up then down again, time to replace orings. If driver is down, it should extend past the nose about 1/4 inch (if driver is broken at the tip the end will look rough and nail will not drive in all the way). If driver extends past the nose more than 1/4 inch then lower bumper may be breaking up /cracked. Easy test for proper function. With nails removed and side door open, connect air to gun and dry fire gun against hard rubber or old coiled air-hose (with air connected and trigger depressed, no air should leak from trigger area, if air leaks when trigger is depressed, look for fault at trigger pin). Feeder should move back then forward in quick motion almost matching speed of driver and driver should not creep down between shots. No air should leak from nose of the gun (push nose against hard rubber and depress trigger and hold in this position, driver should stay down with very little or no air leaking out of nose, when you release trigger, driver will return). If air leaks out of nose while holding in this position, replace lower bumper. If a quantity of air leaks from valve in front of trigger, cylinder orings may need replacing or outer part of cylinder has fine scratches (remove scratches with 400 grit paper). Parts are available at www.toolpartsdirect.com. Good lucki

1999 Pontiac Bonneville. Directional signal will not cancel from left turn. Please advise how to repair.

The signal switch inside the column under the steering wheel is broken. To remove that, I'd recommend that you get a chilton or haynes manual and follow the directions EXACTLY so you don't trigger the air bag. Pretty sure the part is under $100. and it's not terribly difficult to do if you work carefully and make notes so you don't forget anything.

The blade lock is not locking . When you put pressure on the blades they pop off

Most makes of clipper including Oster, Andis, Wahl have a latch which is depressed to release the blades. The latch is commonly situated under the hinge assembly and holds the blade with a simple hook at the tip which catches on the blades.
If the blades will pull off without depressing the latch, chances are the tip has broken off and will require replacement.
Undo the two screws securing the hinge into place and remove both parts, when fitting the new latch make sure the spring ends of the hinge locate through the holes on either side of the latch.

Bostitch F21PL. Air to gun, but when trigger depressed nothing. If I reach below the trigger and push up the piece from the front of the nailer, it will fire the nail (as long as tip is making contact and...

that is the safety that you are pushing up
apparantly the safety is not going far enough up to disengage.

there should be an adjustment know near the trigger or nose to adjust the safety out further, therefore making proper contact

The unit will not release water.

The water release probably has the hose pinched shut. Storing it with the trigger depressed will eliminate this. You'll have to find the spot, where the hose gets pinched, to shut off the flow and turn it 90°.

Canon Poershot sd300 digital elph. It just wont turn on period.

Try this: with the battery installed and battery door open, take a pencil, fine tip screwdriver, or anything long and skinny and push the tip of it into the little nub circled in the picture here. There's a spring inside that little nub... keep the spring depressed and try to turn on the camera. If it works, then either a small piece of plastic broke off the battery door or the nub got broken/pushed in too far for the battery door to trigger it. Try using a dab of hot glue to keep the nub pushed into the down position.
