Just bought a Philips Mp3 player, know nothing about how to use or load, directions only have pictures, where do I get the manual off the internet to read. Remember I don't know a thing about how to use it, or load songs on it.

First, the device would have been provided with a cable from which connection would be made to the computer. Second, the device would have likely been acquired together with an installation disk. The disk should be installed on the computer because contained the program that would hold media for transferability perposes. Third, once software has been installed every available media would be compiled onto an area called the transfer library or player list for manipulation. Fourth, at which point connecting the device to the computer should be ready for transfer. The device is simply recognised by the computer program that was installed on the computer making way for feartures like transfter, save, edit, and the like.

I just bought this thing and I am reding where it says to read what is on my computer screen but nothing is coming up

First, make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged.
There are three programs that the manual references - Philips Device Manager, Philips Media Converter, and Windows Media Player. There is nothing automatic about these programs. You have to run the installation CD, and open the programs.

Also, remember that the music menu, video menu, etc do not show up WHEN the mp3 player is connected to the computer - they only show up AFTER you have disconnected the mp3 player from the computer.

That is the best answer I can give you with the question you posted.

Mp3 player wont play music, says file not formated

The file not formatted message is not an error that a repair will fix.
The songs that you have loaded onto the player are in a format that the player does not support. Do yourself a favor, and only download files that rae in mp3 format - they will never give you problems, error messages, require long explanations, etc.

I just bought a phillips go gear audio video player and I cannot get Widows Media player to recognize it. Am I missing a driver?

Make sure the installation CD was run. If you lost it, get the software from Philips website.

Check your manual - the newer GoGear's cannot accept a transfer through Windows Media Player - if the manual does not say that you can use Windows Media Player to transfer, then you must drag and drop the files directly using Windows Explorer. The latest GoGear's were a step backwards for Philips, rather than a step forward.

Inability to play recorded songs

maybe the music you are trying to play is protected as many music you buy over the internet is. try loading your player with music you ripped from a cd or make sure the protected music is transfered directly to your player with the program you bought the music with.
