Unless you want a new house, stop using that heater immediately. There are severe internal electric problems with your heater. Since it's already 3 years old, I'm not sure it's worth trying to repair. With what you described, I'm surprised it didn't trip one of you circuit breakers.
Be safe, Don't continue to try to use this heater.
You will need to rework the power supply board. You will have two bad capacitors. These two capacitors are of 16 volts at 1000Mf at 105 degrees. The other 4 capacitors are 25 volts at 220Mfs and at 105 degrees. Replace all six of them. This will cure your problem. Thanks for listening and show all hands of support!

The AO4 is a board used by Earthwise on the Comfort Zone Heater. The reading is the board being used. If the heater just gives that reading it may need to be reset. This can be done by pressing up, down and enter at the same time. If this does not work unplug and try it again. Hope this helps

Just was reading your article on the Comfort Zone CZ1500WT. It so happens that our heater has burned off two plugs and 2 recepticles. My husband tried to use it in our 5th wheel, but got scared after this happened twice. He put it back in the box & forgot about it. I just came across it again and thought I would see if anyone else was having this problem. I would like to contact Earthwise Technologies who apparently sells these units. Does anyone out there have a email address that I can contact and see if there is anything that can be done to resolve this issue. This happened since new, but thought it was the wiring in our 5th wheel. Seems not after reading this article. If anyone has any information to help, please email me at [email protected]
I bought a used Comfort Zone CZ1500P and am having similiar problems. The end of the cord is "warm." I'm not really sure what to do with it either. If I find out any other information on how to fix this, I will pass it along to you.
