register the toy to your Learning Lodge account. upon connecting the toy to yoir computer turn it on. LL should open. click the picture of the mobigo 2. u'll be taken to another page wherein you might see an option to update for firmware or where you will get a prompt that an update is available. if that doesnt work then you need to call the vtech hotline
Try taking out the batteries and the game and holding down the "on" button for one minute, then put the batteries back in and try again. The tech support will tell you do that anyway. If that does not work, I would contact them for repair or replacement. I had that problem and that is what I was told to do, they ended up replacing my daughter's mobigo at no charge.
Called vtech today about mostly unused mobigo not identifying cartridges, they told me the toy is defective. It was a mobigo 1, which had a year warranty. We bought it too early for my son and it sat on a shelf for almost two years. We bought another from a craigslister whose son never used it only to find the same issue upon opening. Vtech suggested we purchase the Mobigo 2, but I am against doing so after finding out those only have a three month warranty. Quality control isssue?????
You need to connect the Mobigo to a computer with internet connection On. Use an USB cable, the Mobigo will download the reward. Alternatively contact the manufacturer: http://www.vtechuk.com/about-vtech/contact-us/

I too had this problem... if u are using the learning lodge cd ... it wont work (the version is too old) uninstall the old version and go to www.vtechkids.com/downloads and download the latest version of the learning lodge navigator. once u do that ... connect the mobigo... it will reinstall all the necessary software and fix the problem. ours is working perfectly now. the manual should have stated "always make sure u have the latest version of the software" or there should be an update button on the current version to always check for updates :)
If your product has a "Reset" button, try using that.
Another tip. Try removing all of the batteries and holding down the
"ON" button for about 45 seconds. Then replace the batteries (be sure
they are fresh) and try your product again
