Power light is green or orange - TV screen is blank
If the power light is green or orange and your screen remains blank, follow these steps.
Completely power down your system by pressing the power button for
10 seconds. If that doesn't work, unplug the AC Adapter from the Wii for
a moment, then plug it back in.
Make sure your Wii console has the most current Wii system menu. Download the latest update (how to), and then test your Wii console to determine if the problem has been resolved.
If you continue to experience this issue, there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired.
Hi Lynn,
Had the same problem. My fix was to unplug the cable from the back of the WII that connects to your TV and plug it back in. If that still doesn't work, unplug it again and look inside the plug to make sure none of the contacts are bent.
Hope thix fixes it for you.

Unplug the cord, wait about 3 minutes. then turn the wii back on, do not play the game, take the disc out and turn the wii off again, and unlpug. Then turn on and put disc in.
Sounds like classic computer problem with overheating. I know there is a stand with a built in fan for the Wii. But the normal stand should be enough. Have u dusted around you Wii? Everything with cooling has some amount of dust that finds it way into the machine. And all pc and consoles shut down when overheating, as a protective measure. Otherwise stuff would melt inside.
if you were either downloading a update or a game update or playing a game while it was loading you have a bricked wii
fixable but req some stuff
some way req hardware and software
others are only software
Try unplugging all the cords from the wii unit, wait about a minute or so, then reconnect the cords and power up. This should "reset" the system. A similar situation occurred with our system, and this was the solution we were told to try, and it worked. Good luck! :)
There was a power surge which caused my WII to not power on anymore.
Unplugging the power adaptor fromt he wall for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in
fixed the problem.
Power Light Shuts Off
If the power shuts off during game play (even as much as 30 minutes after the system is turned on), then turns off and won't turn back on or the fan isn't working, the system needs repair.
Power Light Flashes
If the power light flashes once when power button is pressed, then turns off and won't turn back on, the system needs repair
You should make sure your disks are not scratched. To turn the wii off (without unplugging and all that).....Just hold the power button for a while on the counsle until it shuts off. Just out of curiousity.......and maybe a thing.........because this happened to me.........it froze because i entered a cheat and skipped to much in the game, but when i went back and did it the real way, it didn't freeze. --John
