6 cup only making one cup

I just had this same problem and after reading this blog I went downstairs, tightened the pot down more and it worked! I usually don't tighten it this much, but will continue to tighten it down hard until the gasket is broken in. Thank you sooooooo much!!!

It's the gasket!!!!! Store the pot with the two parts screwed TIGHTLY together for about a week. Tighten it up as the new gasket compresses. Problem solved in two weeks or less. Also cook on medium to low heat. High flame seems to make the problem worse.

I have just had exactly the same problem - bought a new set of rubber gaskets and the metal filter discs but it still didn't work, three new rubber gaskets all gave the same problem.

But... then I thought about the one other replaceable part: the funnel cup. These are available to replace too and aren't expensive [less than 2 UK pounds from Amazon, that's about 3 US$].

And it worked! so, moral of the story is when you replace the gasket, replace the funnel cup too as it does get knocked out of shape over time.

I've finally discovered the solution to this problem. When the water is boiling and you can hear it trying to come up thru the coffee maker, pick up the Bialetti Coffee maker about 3 inches and just hit it back down onto the burner of the stove. You don't have to go crazy here.

Before you start making coffee just make sure the strainer is clean where the gasket attaches as you might want to blow through it and all parts are dry before you put coffee into that little metal cup.

Have you changed the way you grind the coffee? If the coffee is ground too finely, and packed in, it will block the pot. Usually you can tell it's blocked because the pressure relief starts to spout steam.
