My tv when i turn it on the picture is distorted and after a minute or two looks like there is a dark shadow over it with the darkest area over the left side of the tv. after about ten minutes of being on it corrects itself and works perfect.

Sounds like it could be a defective lcd panel. is the menu for the tv affected? if it were a lcd panel failure then i would suggest contacting SAMSUNG customer support to see about possible repair assistance or complete accomodation. the lcd panel is the most expensive part of the tv if you call them with your date of purchase and description of defect they may help you with repair cost. good luck
