If water won't shut off even if you unplug the washer, then the water valve is likely stuck and will need to be replaced. If the water shuts off when water level switch is on low, but overflows when set on medium or high, it is more often the water level switch itself. Before replacing, be sure the tube going to the side of the tub is clear and not kinked. Remove the tube from the switch and blow thru it, reattach and try filling again. If it works, you should be ok, if not then replace water level switch.

What controls the water cut-off feed during cycles and when dail is set in off position.

There are electronically turned on and shut off water valves that are controlled by a water level sensor which varies based on what load size/water level you need Small, Medium, or Large. So if the valve gets stuck open since it's an old machine, the water will just keep coming in. But let me ask you this? If you turn the house water value on n NOW...will the wash machine just start filling? If so, it means your valve is stuck open so you would need to replace the water valve which is like $50 online. If the house water valve is on, and when you start the washing machine it starts filling, but just keeps on filling...that's probably because your water level sensor is messed up. So you have 2 things to check...is it the washer water valve is stuck open? or is it the water level sensor that isn't sensing when the washer is full so it just keeps filling it.

Our washer is not filling with enough water. We set it for a large load and the water level is that of a medium or maybe even less.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

What is the capicity of a GE WWA7600S washer

Here is the user's manual:

http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/pdf/49-9810.PDF

They never talk about weight or capacity other than

Setting the Controls

Use the Suggested Fabric and Cycle Settings guide ~ Select Rinse Temperature.

to help you make the proper selections.

~ Select Wash Spin Speed.

~ Push Cycle Selector knob in and turn clockwise to

your selected wash setting. If you wish to change setting

~ Select Water Level. ~ Pull Cycle Selector knob + START out to start the washer.

SMALL: Washer is less than 1/3 full of clothes.

MEDIUM: Between 1/3 and 1/2 full.

LARGE: Between 1/2 and 2/3 full.

This washer will pretty much take anything you can throw at it. It was a competetor of the Maytag large capacity washers. As long as you follow the loading guide above you are not going to hurt it.

My Indesit washing maching WG 1234 T, just keeps filling up and will not start its wash cycle.

Usually, when water fills up to a desired level, for example: choosing a small, medium, or large load. The floating switch will trigger a signal to turn on the motor to turn to start the agitation. In this case, the floating switch is bad or the floating mechanism is not working. Therefore the machine didn't do anything. It needs to access to inside the back panel to check it out. Cheers.

Water goes in but never fills, water just keeps running

well it could be a couple of things.....there is a clear tube that runs from the outer tub up to the water level switch.(small, medium,large,etc...) make sure the tube is hooked up on both sides....if it is take it off the switch and blow through it to make sure it is not plugged with fabric softner. If you have done both of those things and it still does it then you need to replace the water level switch. Part number for switch is PS975847 and it runs right around $50.

Fill will not stop

you may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Water keeps running.......

i assume washer never starts running if not suspect water level switch or connection hose also be sure small hose to switch is not plugged or mashed flat even a small hole in hose may cause it not to get pressure to tell switch drum is full ..if washer does start running suspect bad water valve may not be shutting off

Maytag stack unit washer dryer unit

Not in the way you have described!...LOL. Seriously though, I can only discern that if you have selected the maximum water level available, then you are overlaoding it and need to remove enough items so that when the washer agitates, the clothes will circulate down and around the agitator, reappearing up at the top in different quadrants of the wash tub. This is true with any level you select. Another guideline to help choose the water level is to keep the items at or below the 3 oblong vertical hole slots in the side of the agitator. Then choose small, medium, or large water level.
If that doesn't help, then post me back with a more definitive description of the issue you are experiencing and any negative results you are having concerning the issue..
Good luck Dan!
