When IE dissapears does IExlorer.exe show in the task manager's list of running processes?

Have any toolbars or new sofware been added recently? If so and you are using Win XP you may want to try a system restore to a previous point before the changes were made or uninstall the toolbars completely. Also disabled all Pop-Up blockers to see if that has any effect.clean up ur registry using reginout

How to Change the ICON of an EXE file

Some times it becomes necessary to change the ICON of an executable(.exe) file so that the exe file get’s a new appearence. Many of the Tools such as TuneUP Winstyler does this job by adjusting the Windows to display a custom icon to the user. But in reality when the file is carried to a different computer, then it shows it’s original ICON itself. This means that inorder to permanantly change the ICON, it is necessary to modify the executable file and embed the ICON inside the file itself. Now when this is done the exe file’s ICON is changed permanantly so that even if you take file to a different computer it show’s a new icon.

For this purpose I have found a nice tool which modifies the exe file and will embed the ICON of your choice into the file itself. ie:The tool changes the exe ICON permanantly.

I’ll give you a step-by-step instruction on how to use this tool to change the icon.

1. Goto www.shelllabs.com and download the trial version of Icon Changer and install it (Works on both XP and Vista).
2. Right-click on the exe file whose ICON is to be changed.
3. Now you will see the option Change Icon…Click on that option.
4. Now the Icon Changer program will open up.
5. Icon changer will search for all the ICONS on your system so that you can select any one of those.
6. Now select the ICON of your choice and click on SET.
7. Now a popup window will appear and ask you to select from either of these two options.
  • Change embeded icon.
  • Adjust Windows to display custom icon.
Select the first option (Change embeded icon).
8. You are done.The ICON get’s changed.

For All XP user Don't Use IE 7.0 & higher version

Applicable for all window XP (all edition, all PCs and Laptops)

Hi there,
If you are getting trouble after the updates of internet explorer..

Then I would suggest you to Roll Back it to the original Internet Explorer (i.e Internet Explorer version 6.0)

Which come up with Installation of Win Xp with Service Pack 2.

Bad Effect due to IE 7.0 or higher version:

Screen hang up, internet freezes abruptly, prominent windows crashes anytime.

So to stop these problems, better to run with lower and safe version of IE:

To remove Internet Explorer 7 from your PC use the following methods

Method 1: Use "Add or Remove Programs" to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

Step 1: Use "Add or Remove Programs" to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

a. Click Start, and then click Run.

b In the Open box, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

c. In the list of programs, click Windows Internet Explorer 7, and then click Remove.

d. Follow the wizard instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 7. Also remove if any updates under this entry found.

If you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 7 by using this method, try Method 2.

Method 2: Use Spuninst.exe to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

Run Spuninst.exe to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

a. Click Start, and then click Run.

b. In the Open box, type %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe, and then click OK.

c. Follow the wizard instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 7.

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 7, double-click the Internet Explorer icon to verify that Internet Explorer 6 is restored.

This will bring up you to run Internet explorer as it come up with the installation kit, which is safe and reliable.

Have Nice Surfing!!

After formatting laptop no wireless and no sound

Sounds like a browser ****** to me. What operating system are you using and also what version of Internet Explorer ?

Basic IE troubleshooting always begins with clearing your temp files, cookies, and browsing history. To access your internet options go to your control panel and double click the icon labeled "Internet" options. Click the appropriate buttons to clear those items and try to load the program again.

If you are using IE 7 you can try to run the program without loading any add-ons to see if one of them is causing the problems. To do this, click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

(You can also load IE without add-ons by clicking START --> RUN and then typing iexplore.exe -extoff)

If those don't work try to re-register IEPROXY.DLL by clicking START --> RUN and typing regsvr32 IEPROXY.DLL and then clicking OK.

When IE dissapears does IExlorer.exe show in the task manager's list of running processes?

Have any toolbars or new sofware been added recently? If so and you are using Win XP you may want to try a system restore to a previous point before the changes were made or uninstall the toolbars completely. Also disabled all Pop-Up blockers to see if that has any effect.

if you get this error message: LoadLibrary ("IEPROXY.DLL") failed -- The specified module could not be found.

this is because its not a resident of the system32 folder.... the actual command you'll need to type: -

regsvr32.exe "c:\program files\internet explorer\ieproxy.dll"

hope this fixya up

Application iesample.exe encountered serious error and must shut down and can't get IE or any web page open to download a fix

You will need to uninstall Internet explorer.
By uninstalling it Internet Explorer will be reverted back to an earlier edition.
This should fix your issue
If not try system Restore on your computer.
If that does not work go to another PC and download firefox to a thumb drive
use that and install it on the net book

It wont let me on anything it the notebook keeps saying application iesample.exe ecncountered a serious error and must shut down

Hello, Please follow the these steps from Microsoft to correct the situation:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831432

This problem occurs because one of the following browser helper objects (BHO) is installed on your computer:
  • BuyersPort
  • Morpheus
  • Morpheus Shopping Club
  • WURLD Shopping Community
Additionally, you logged on to the computer with a limited user account. The BHO tries to modify certain system files and Windows Registry entries that require administrative credentials to access. As a result, when the BHO cannot access these files and registry entries, Internet Explorer stops abruptly.

Window can not find gphone.exe

Hi,
gphone.exe is nowadays one of the most dangerous virus spreading very fastly. Its a trojan and changes your IE homepage and sends tries to open gtalk and yahoo messenger. It even sends messages to gtalk contacts. Its icon is just like that of folder icon and people thinking of folder click on it get infected by the virus.
Gphone virus basically is a 260 kb .exe file which looks like a folder and it can take any name of any other folder if you have clicked on the virus folder which looks like a folder but it isnt.If you have a folder name “comptalks” in your D drive it will make a exe file in the folder named comptalks.exe and if you click on that exe file it too work as a virus. It makes .exe files in all the folders you have with the name of the folder.
To remove the gphone.exe virus you just need to follow simple steps:
Go to Task Manager ->Processes and then click on gphone.exe and click on end process.
After that manually go to folder where gphone.exe is present and simply delete it.
Or simply search for the exe file clicking which started sending messages through gtalk. If you clicked on 1.exe search for that file on task manager and then delete it.

Good luck.

How do I get IE 8 icon on my desktop

Go to the installation directory. It is probably C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer.
Look for a file there called iexplore.exe.
Right click on that file. Then use the "Create ShortCut" menu pick! That creates the shortcut. Last step: just drag the shortcut to your desktop. Done!
