Yes there is a filter. Pull up on the fuel line, or the rubber grommet that goes into the tank with the fuel line through it. There were different types of filter used. One is inside a black plastic tube. You can pick it out of the tube with a pick. Another style is located on top of the tank and is of white plastic. Your fuel delivery problem may be air related. The air pump is on the back of the blower motor, and meters a set volume of air to **** the fuel out of the tank and blow it through the nozzle. This air pressure is stated on the data plate on your heater, probably about 3.6 psi. The air filters on the air pump could also be dirty causing the air output to be reduced, and thus low fuel flow. Also check for air leaks at the pump. Spray soapy water on the black plastic cover and look for bubbles, which are of coarse air leaks.

I have a reddy heater 100000 btu model r100a. Everytime I plug it up I have to push the reset button. It comes on only for about 30sec. Then the reset will trip back off and it shut down. What could be...

Does the heater light up before it cuts off. If it does, then you need to first clean the flame sensor. It is a photo type sensor. Remove the top from the heater and the flame sensor is a black rubber boot close to the burner. You can clean it with a soft cloth or a cotton swab and some alcohol. If the heat isn't lighting up before the reset trips, with the top off, start the heater and check the igniter. If it is OK look for fuel spraying from the fuel nozzle. Watch out for the fan while the top is off and the heater is on. If fuel isn't spraying out, check the nozzle for clogs and check the fuel filter. I have a Reddy 100,000 btu space heater model R100A. The fan will turn on and the spark plug is igniting, but it does not appear to be getting any fuel so it will not light.

You need to check the nozzle for clogs and also check the fuel filter. Let me know what you find and I will tell you some other things to check.

Reddy heater 155,000 burning good then rich, any help????

Check your fuel filter,, could be running out of fuel, due to obstruction in fuel delivery system. Either crud in the tank clogging up the pickup,,or maybe even water in your fuel. Your filter might be it,,have you been running diesel?? check it out....

I hmodelrave a reddy kerosene heater model rm115 when i plug it in it runnes for 2 sec then stops i replug it in the same thing

my 115 heater did about the same thing.Fuel filter was plugged.Open up the side panel on the LH (as seen from the rear of heater), should have 4 screws.Filter will be pressed in the tank, mine came out with a little effort, but it is made of plastic so I was careful. There is a small arrow indicating flow direction so I used compressed air to blow back through it.Use a flash light and check in your fuel tank to see if there is any crud in it.I have my owners manual so if you need copy of it let me know .E-mail [email protected]

Reddy heater model r100a runs approxamitly 15 to 20 minutes then kicks out.fan seems to run fine and already replaced the spark plug.

generally if a heater with a spark plug will run for 10 minutes or longer then that’s an indication that the electronics are functioning properly, so for now, eliminate "any fuel delivery problems" before trouble shooting the electronics. The spark plug should spark for the duration of the run time. If the flame goes out the heater shuts down (just like its designed to do). Imagine the fumes & danger involved if the heater continued to pump raw fuel into a hot combustion chamber!

Some possibilities:
  1. the plastic end cover is cracked. When the room heats up the crack expands allowing the air pressure to fluctuate.
  2. the air pump pressure is not correct. (instructions at www.reddyparts.com )
  3. the fuel filter is restricted.
  4. the nozzle is restricted or worn.
  5. there is an air leak between the pump & the nozzle.
  6. water in the fuel. When a droplet passes through there is a momentary flameout condition which will cause the photocell to shut the unit down.
  7. The photocell is defective

My Reddy Heater runs a little then shuts off

Before I went replacing anything, I'd open the right access (looking from the front)panel. Pull the black feed hose off of the nipple on the the filter assembly. Carefully remove the filter barrel, which will be sticking down in the kerosene tank drawing the fuel out. With a flat tip screwdriver, rotate the plastic piece on the bottom of this assembly. Mine is red and looks like a little plug with a screen filter, shaped like a funnel. It has a friction fit so it will not be threaded. Pull this out and see if the fliter has dirt or debris in it. Blow it out with compressed air or wash it with a solvent. Replace the filter and reassemble, plug it in and turn it on. 98% of my early shut down or fuel issues are resolved by doing this. Doesn't take much to restrict fuel flow in these heaters enough to shut them down. Good luck.
