Try removing the fuel cap for a moment to see it can be restarted immediately. If this works, check the fuel tank vent for plugging problems. Also, check for spark at the plug when it dies--if no spark, try a fresh plug gapped at 0.020". If nothing, the ignition module may be failing with heat. Good luck!

You need either a new carb or a new coil. Test carb with spray, if starts then dies, replace carb. If no start replace coil.

455 rancher runs with chock out 15 second and dies

Try opening the choke half way as soon as it starts then all the way open in a few seconds... It only needs the choke to start and should run fine in less than a minute after idleing with the choke not engaged...

Husqvarna 455 rancher chainsaw - you can start the saw run it for 3 mins it then cuts off and then wont start back till cooled off. whats the problem?

check the ignition module. as the saw heats up it causes the inside of the module to expand which causes it to stop producing spark. when it cools off it makes contact again and starts working right

455 rancher runs for about 5 min. than stalls and wont start until cold than problem repeats

Sounds like a fuel problem. Something might be expanding as the saw warms up and is cutting off the fuel or introducing an air leak. Carby may require a new kit and check the fuel line

My 455 Rancher Husqvarna 20 inch chainsaw wont stay running while idling. its a brand new saw. don't know if it needed to be adjusted or if its pre adjusted already. Starts and runs fine but just won't...

Carb adjustmwnt requires a special tool and a tacho, the saw is set from the factory for the best emmisions, however it may need a small adjustment, this should be done by a qualified dealer, incorrect adjustments can damage the engine.

Husqvarna 455 rancher . it has low compression and no fuel to plug . wont start but piston and rings are fine .Help

it could be the small gasket between the head and carb. they are also bad about the fuel line coming out of the tank gettin rubbed and making a small hole or pinched.

455 rancher will not produce oil for the chain. Oil pump replacement? Need repair manual or parts breakdown. Thanks Warren

Also make sure that where the oil is pumped against the side of the bar that the oil port (little hole) that feeds oil into the bar's slot is clear. Mine would go through a tank of oil with each tank of gas, but the chain wasn't getting oiled until I cleaned out this little hole.
