SOURCE: sub woofer has a hum

I have found that with other appliances running, or a busy circuit, I have the same problem. Try to turn everything else in the house off and check again....A/C are often culprits. You can buy a line isolator for the plug, although they are just more money to spend. If this doesn't work, well, it could be a crappy home theaater receiver. It happens

SOURCE: my sw 15 sub woofer is making aloud humming noise

Most likely, you could feel the fan if it was that, but it could also be the the cord that connects the Sub to the main console, much like guitar feedback on an amp

Try a different cable, make sure the cable you are useing is not a" twisted pair technology" cable, I have had that type of cable create a hummm in many subwoofers that I have troubleshot. Good luck !

You can't reset the Bluetooth device, you remove the connections from the devices connected to it, smartphone televisions etc. On the device click the Frisby and then click 'Forget Device'. To reset a remote, you just remove the batteries for a while.

Connect Philips sw3440/37 powered sub, with no other components. I bought this powered sub at goodwill... How do I hook it up without the other components (dvd player etc.)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can connect this sub-woofer without the rest of the components of the HTS3440/37 DVD Home Theater System or a related Philips home theater system. The speakers in the system are hard-wired with a colored plug that you connect to the sub-woofer. Then you need connect the inter-connect cable between the sub-woofer to the DVD Player of the system. See the wiring guide in the Quick Start Manual or the User Guide available on the product support page: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HTS3440_37/divx-ultra/support .

Sub-woofers that aren't part of a home theater system connect to a receiver with a digital audio RCA cable. One example is here: https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-ULTRA-Subwoofer-Cable-Feet/dp/B003FVYXY0 . Then the speakers also connect to the receiver.

Even if you find another Philips Home Theater system that is missing the sub-woofer, I wouldn't rule out a change in the pin arrangement for the inter-connect cable that would cause the system to fail. I can't find any sources for a replacement inter-connect cable; the part number isn't in the manual that I can find.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I just got my system today. All the speakers are working, except the sub-woofer. Any ideas what could be wrong (if not DoA)?

Did you connect power to the sub-woofer? Most subs have their own amplifier. Just check if there is also an on / off switch on the sub.

When unit is on sound coming out of sub woofer is not loud before sound was alot stronger

Have you checked the volume control thoroughly? Because some sound system has independent volume control for each speak.

Also check the setting very well maybe it has been tampered with.

I also just hope nothing is wrong with the sound IC.

Try these first and lets see what happens.

take care.

Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable

On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

HTS 6500/37 sub woofer

the reciever should have a "subwoofer level" setting, or a "bass level control" If you cannot find this then try to place the "sub-woofer" away from walls and elevate it from the floor. This will reduce it's loudness/ intensity at annoying frequencies...

Good Luck
