SOURCE: Ryobi impact drill compatibility with normal drill bits

Round bits are not compatible with the Ryobi impact drivers. You need the hex shank "quick connect" bits and accessories. There is an adapter available. it is basically a regular style of keyless drill chuck with the quick connect hex shank that should fit right in to your Impact.

If this is not available in hardware stores in your area, have your old one repaired. Or you can pro-

Drill bit stuck in ryobi impact drill

Put the bit in a vise and try to turn the drill to release the bit. You will need to put a wrench on the area of the drill that's holding the bit and do the turning by the wrench.

How do you insert a drill bit?

Grasp the ring at the nose of the drill. It has knurling around it. Pull it forwards and insert an impact rated driver bit or hex shank drillbit. Let the bit slide into the recess until it bottoms out. Release the knurled ring. You should hear the little keeper bearings spring back into place. Your toolbit should now be captive so you can go to work.

Who rebuilds ryobi 18 volt li ion batteries

Rebuilding the Lithium batteries is a waste of time and money. For starters the cells cost a minimum of $5 ea and a low power pack takes 5, so now you are in for $25 without doing any work. You can pick up packs on eBay for around $30 - $40 if you shop around. If you know what you are doing, you can strip cells from bad packs and test them to find good ones and then rebuild with those. It can be tricky and you may get mixed results.

Ryobi battery wont stay charged

Ryobi has a 2 year warranty. Take it to a service center. If it's older than 2 years, buy a new drill set. They don't sell parts for the batteries and it's not worth buying new batteries for it.

Correct clutch setting for driving screws

This depends on the softness / hardness of the timber you are driving the screws into.
Start with midrange clutch setting and when clutch slips, adjust the setting upwards until screws are driven fully home.

What is the value of the large resistor on a KW14-VO board

I overheated my current limiter too, so the colored bands are unreadable. But I measured it at 6.2 ohms. The wattage on this resistor is not really high enough for the job, so they get very hot. I replaced mine with a 10W resistor (too big for board mounting) attached to the board with 22 ga. wires. I clipped a heatsink around the resistor and stuffed it into the empty space at the back of the housing. Hopt this helps.
