Dust will blow out of the front vent of my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum. It seems to be shooting out dust that I just vacuum up, but I can't be certain.

Dust blows out of the filter vent is usually caused by a plugged filter drop the filter door on the back, replace or for a temporary fix blow out the filter

SOURCE: i cant get the power brush to work

can you turn the brush by hand? if it turns real freely the belt is broke or the brush siezed up make sure there isn't any carpet strans wrapped around the ends of the brush otherwise the brush won't turn.if its the belt make sure you clean the motor shaft before you put on the new belt, the old rubber from the old belt will make the new belt run unevevly and break again..good luck

Dust is blowing out the front vent.

If dirt and dust are blowing out anywhere that they shouldn't be, it's a sure sign that something's plugged farther on up the line. You'll need to disassemble the unit and clear the clog before anything will go through to the dirt cup. Also, as long as you're going to be taking it apart, check all the filters. This is a notoriously neglected part of bagless vacuums, and a very large part of why they start to lose the initial level of vacuum power. Clean the ones you can clean, replace the ones you can't. Walmart and Meijer's are a couple of places where you might find replacements.

Hi...everytime I turn on my vacuum it blows out a bunch of dirt/dust...the belt seems to be intact...what can the problem be? Is it something i can fix myself possibly?

This is most likely a clogged inlet, clogged hose, or a clogged filter. Just need to inspect it thoroughly and give it a good cleaning.

More info, let me know.

It sounds like either the bearings are seized, or there is debris in the assembly. You will probably need to dismantle the vacuum and clean everything out. It's not unusual for vacuum s to get really dirty and need periodic maintenance. If you have replaced the belt, then you have the skill to do the rest. Note that after re-assembly don't try to lubricate the bearings. They will only collect dirt faster.

The attachment won't ****

it's pretty counter intuitive, try it the way you think it absolutely won't work! also when the belts start breaking I can help ya with that too. really the best thing to do would be to take it out and shoot it, or you could sell it to some unsuspecting victim like someone did to me!

Blows dust

i had this trouble and it turned out someone in my household had tossed out the filter with the rest of the dirt. you may have lost yours along the way since it's relatively easy to throw out.
