My grandson turned on the parental control and entered a "secret Number" on my 32" CRT TV Model32SC260. When I play the DVD/VCR player there is a big black square in the picture. The child is 31/2 years old and has no idea what number he put in. How do I reset or by-pass the code he put in? Pleaqse reply to [email protected]

There are two ways to solve this problem 1 enter menu and remove old code and replace with new one, 2 reprogram eprom

There are a few things that can cause that. Pretty much the TV is shutting itself down because it recognizes and issue in one of a few circuits. If you're getting a flash and then it cuts off my first guess would be a vertical issue. May be best to take it in to a repair center and have them take a look at it. Shouldn't be any more than $20 for a diagnostic check on the unit.

Have you checked on the settings? Maybe the speaker function was turned off?
Also, the speaker migth got busted or the audio IC may be the root of this.

You'll have to go into the menu setting of the VCR and turn the controls off, also you can try completely unplugging the VCR and then plugging it back in again to see if it goes away.

It may be a parental lock, so u need the code or u have to reset it, check the manual on how to reset it
