My stackable dryer (417.94702300) makes a clunking noise. We just got it (craigslist) and it happened the 1st time we turned it on. Sounds like we're trying to dry a shoe in there - it clunks in rhythm with the drum turning and it's really loud when dryer is on hot. Seems to work fine (clothes get dry fast) but the noise is unbearable and prob not good for the machine. I think it's related to the heater b/c the noise is much quieter on fluff - the lower the heat, the softer the noise. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You will need to take the front cover off and check to see if there is anything lodged between the drum and housing.

Stackable dryer makes thumping noises -think its a broken belt

9 out of 10 times this is due to a bad roller. This is not something you can do yourself. A stack model is just too complicated.

Clunking noise

The clunking noise may be a broken weld on the drum. Every time it turns and passes through the guide wheel supports, it makes a thunk thunk noise. You will need to have a qualified LG technician diagnose the problem correctly but that's what it sounds like.
