Hi, well I suspect that you will also need to install a "Driver" for the units too, make sure that the drivers are written for your operating system too or they will/may not work. So see if there are indeed drivers for the ilink, install then and see how you go? Using the A/V cables should give you a great picture, and should work fine? Ir's really the software that determines the quality anyway? but you should be able to do well with just the A/V, and good software.
I always use ulead software otherwise you could have a digital interface problem . Is there a comp usa ,frys or similar place you can take your camcorder to to hook up and test it?
