Pride Sundancer. Batteries will not charge. both batteries test about 50% charge. When I plug charger in to 110v, the needle on rear of unit barely moves. When I turn on key, charge indicator on on dash pegs to full charge in green area. No voltage is getting to the battery from the charger.(tested output at both battery connections) However power from charger is getting to lights etc.

Batterys may be to low for charger to pick them back up.Sounds like new batterys to me .dobble check that charger just in case by volt testing the neg and positive wires on one battery ,When its hooked up .then do the other to see if power is getting where its suppose to be. Your checking for volt changed .Battery charger checks out good replace batterys that should do it.

Hope I was of some help have a good day.

Hi! Where is the serial number on my older model Pride Sundancer so I can order the potentiometer ?

The serial number begins with the letter J and is found on the main frame of the power chair near the batteries. It may also be found on the seat post if the unit features a clover leaf style. All serial numbers for Pride products are 14 characters long and are shown on a white sticker.

I can leave it plugged in for 24 hours and not have a full charge. Is this the batteries or the on board charger

There are a few things to consider with this type of problem.

How old are the batteries. When did you last have them tested. Is the charger output ok on load (test with an amp clamp type meter). is the charger the correct one for these batteries, small output chargers take longer to charge big batteries. Are all connection tight on batteries and anything to do with the charging circuit. Plug and socket type connection do fail on poor connections. Check voltage on batteries when on charge and off charge to see if the charger voltage is getting through to the batteries.

Batteries wont charge . Charger plugged in meter reads 13 volts . Not plugged in reads 5 volts. tried charging for 24 hours .

Your batteries may be old and no longer able to hold a charge. This can happen even on fairly new batteries. Especially if they sit for a period of time.

Charger not working fan not stay on and yellow light

You have the 4-amp charger version. If you have the U1 batteries on your Pride you can replace the charger with a 3-amp version after you have your batteries load tested and tested for internal resistance. Verify batteries are good and "finishing voltage" after charging is proper. (14.4volts per battery)

Sundance will not take a charge. Breaker is good, front 5 amp fuse is good. All connections are good. Batteries are new. Can also drive away while charge plug is in wall socket. I understand there is a...

On the older sidekick(sundancer) there is an ATO fuse in a rubber boot under the pyramid shaped cover to the rear electronics console that runs to the meter on the pyramid. The newer sundancers have no rear fuse at the electronics tray for the charger. You more likely have a bad charger which is causing an inhibit condition. Usually the scooter will drive away with the charger plugged in until the capacitor drains (1 minute). By unplugging the charger you can get the scooter to run. Check the fuse and the meter connections, then replace the charger with the newer Maximizer style charger with the harness adapter kit.

Jazzy Select 6 Indoor Power Wheelchair: how to charge...

The Jazzy Select 6 requires an off-board charger. Plug the charger into a grounded outlet; preferably one that doesn't have other large loads on the circuit like refrigerator, freezer, microwave, etc. The male 3-prong XLR connector coming off the other end of the charger plugs into a female XLR connector which is on the joystick control's bottom-rear. Charge it overnight after each days use, and at least once each month overnight. You should get 2-4 hours of use from the chair at top speed with a 200 pound driver, depending on terrain and climate. If it isn't holding a charge, you will probably need two new U-1 type gel sealed batteries that run about $120.00 or so each. Make sure you test the old batteries first at a knowledgeable battery shop. These are deep cycle batteries and require a special testing. If the batteries are good, then your charger isn't charging. Search EBay or other online sites for a wheelchair charger in the 4-6 amp range. They can be found for about $45.00 or so. Pride will charge you a lot more.

How do you charge the jazzy 1103? It is on 0 on the back. Plugged it in overnight with chair on. Went from 4 to 0. Help we don't want to be stranded.

The meter on the back is an amp meter and tells you how many amps are entering the batteries when charging. Many people get confused with this and think that the needle should rise as the batteries become more charged. This is in fact incorrect and the opposite should happen. So just to sumarise, when you plug the charger in when the batteries have been used, the needle should be above 0 (maybe, 3-5 depending on how discharged the batteries are) and as the batteries become charged, the needle should gradually drop down, and should be on 0 when they are fully charged. The batteries should not be taken off charge untill the needle is on 0. Hope that has helped.

Batteries won't charge w/ on board charging unit.

Since you have replaced the batteries and the charger there is most likely a problem with the wiring.
