After 3 trys the keypad does go into lockout mode but it should only last for about 15 minutes and then let you retry 3 more codes to try and open. if you still do not know what the combo is you can usually call the maker of the safe and with the serial number you might be able to get the original combo that the safe was set to when it was purchased ( this is a factory set combo ) --- now if that does not work, your next step will be to call a safe tech ( locksmith ) to set up a auto dialer,, this takes about a full 24 hours to get the combo right. the safe tech can also drill a small hole behind the dial and manually remove the locking bolt. after the safe is opened the locksmith will fill the hole and reset the combo for you ( also replace the battery at this time too ).

[1] Press the MENU button to open the main
On Screen Display (OSD) menu.
[2] Press the [
three times until the Parental Control
menu opens.
[3] Press the [Down] button on the remote control
to highlight Parental Lock Enable. The
"Key-In Access Code" window opens.
[4] Use the number pad to type the default
password (0000) or whatever password
you have changed it to previously, then
press OK.
[5] Press the [Down] button on the remote control
to highlight Access Code Edit.
[6] Press the [=>] button on the remote control
to enter the submenu. You will need to
use the number pad to type default (or
what you changed to previously) password
first
[7] Use the number pad to type the new
password.
[8] Confirm the new password by retyping it.
[9] Press EXIT button on the remote control immediately to exit the OSD menu
