Neptune washer model MAH5500B stopped working mid cycle and I need to get the locked door open to get the clothes out . Is there anyway to get the door open

Make sure to drain the water by opening the drain valve manually.

there is an emergency release in this, you will need to open the detergent dispenser on the top of the washer, (if you have this type) not sure without a model #. and you will be looking towards the front of the dispenser for a florescent plastic wire, this when pulled releases the door lock so you can open it, sometimes this is hard to find and you may need to remove the cover of the dispenser, ( four screws in the dispenser) and look towards the front.

HI- It is possible that the door lock was damaged if someone forced it open mid-cycle. The machine will not cycle unless the door lock engages. Will probably need a to get a Tech out to have a look. Good luck.

Is your door lock light on when machine is in use? I am having the same issue as you and I believe it is because my door is not locking during use.

The timer module is sticking.

Try spin only cycle. Should drain water then spin. If that doesn't work it may be the power outage started as a power spike and fried your control board. Good luck.

Control Panel is bad, need to replace

If you do not have both hot and cold water lines hooked up, some cycles might not work. Also, if you put too many clothes in.

sounds like you may have had a power outage or tripped the breaker on the main electrical panel on your house. can you have a look for me please?

if not it's the main control board that is defective.

can you tell me the full model # & serial # (these will be located on your bill of sale, since you can't open the door).

i will check the warranty info and let you know if the board has warranty.

open panel at rear of control panel usning phillips head and 5/16 the board attached to that panel will probably have a burnt r14 r1 or r21 resistor. this has been an ongoing problem with this model even a class action lawsuit.(lawsuit expired 9/2005) you can change the board but this will eventually happen again maytag directs you to do a full conversion kit rebuild about $400.
