Sending error Hi, I have a Brother MFC-8840D Printer. I've tried to scan a document to send it by mail. The problem is that I entered my correct adress email and it keeps saying "Sending Error" with a nasty noise. How can I cancel this operation to stop the printer annoying me and my co-workers? Thank you.

If your drivers are instaled correctly, the BROTHER Control Center working fine, and you have setup a mail account in say OUTLOOK or another e-mail software, you can scan to e-mail.
Put the document on the flatbed or the ADF, open the Control Center. Select the Scan function, and the Scan to email option.
The document will be scanned, the e-nail software will open, inviting you to enter the email address. that is all it takes.

Machine Error 78 indicates a mechanical malfunction of the Brother MFC-8840D. 78 represents the error number. You have to contact Brother Customer Service 1-877-BROTHER.

With my Brother 8840D I have had paper jams that when cleared would not delete from the display nor would the machine operate until I unplugged the machine for around eight hours. I guess it is a sort of reset or reboot.

just scan it using the command from the computer ..after that you will find the job into the manager folder..of the scanner..from there you can send it directly ..or edit a little ..and copy into computer and attach to the email..or ..use the feature from the scanner's program to send it ..
make sure you set to scan picture cause scanners have a wizard that you can set to scan image (picture Jpeg ....) or PDF ..document ..

I myself would just scan the one first and send it to your PC and then scan the other part and send it to your pc and then just copy the first 1 in to the Microsoft word program and then copy the second one and past it into first under it so it becomes as 1 then upload it to your email and send, this is what I do.
Or of cause you can upload 1 first to your email then upload the other one to your email and send.

It most likely means you have a paper jam. Check to see all the trays where the paper would pass through. In and outwards.... you will find your piece of paper.... it can also be very small too so pay close attention. Remove it and try sending the document to be printed again.

if it can copy copy correctly then its not the scanner. most likely you do not have the scanner software installed.

You can do this through the microsoft word. When you scan your document, your program will ask you where you want your document to go,you can direct it to ms word. you can send your email from microsoft word .easy

Note: it is important to install the software that came with the printer.It is this software you are going to work with to send your scan to ms-word,

Open the brother ControlCenter (programs/brother). Click the bottons to choose the file and settings and where to save data.
