I have a sub zero 590 refrigerator. The ice maker stopped working. I replaced the control module and still not working. Then I replaced the whole ice maker and it is still not working. After running a series of electrical tests on the new ice maker module I determined that I was not getting any power to the ice maker. But I am getting power to the plug itself. Turns out there are two corroded connectors on the flat plug that fits into the module. It looks like a huge job to replace the whole harness, it goes up into the top of the refrigerator and goes all different directions. Is there a way I can replace just the plastic plug on the end of the harness where it plugs into the module?

SubZero 590 ice maker was not making ice. The flat connector that plugs in to the ice maker was corroded due to water dripping down the wire into the connection. A standard ice maker harness connector will work, the flat plug must be cut off of the harness and hard wired to the wiring going to the existing flat plug. The plug can be ordered online for $20 or less.

It is possible to replace the connector but might be hard to find the exact match. Maybe consider going to Fry's or a local electronic hobby store and replace both sides of the connector. You might even be able to find one that does a better job at moisture sealing...maybe an auto parts store that has replacement connectors for the engine compartment.

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid Ice maker Stopped working

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

All of there appliances are second rate. That is "The KitchenAid Difference"

SOURCE: ICE MAKER SUB ZERO REFIGERATOR

Check water turned on. check ice button switch turned on in fridge. remove juice storage, ice container in freezer, check ice bucket full white plastic flapper to make sure not stuck on a white peg at top. flapper must hang down and be freely movable to signal ice maker to keep busy. If up high will turn off ice maker. Lots of other parts especially heater circuits involved also: fill tube supply heater not working then frozen supply line then no ice. Look for wiring diagram in ziplock behind compressor grille. can order parts at repairclinic.com. logical design, layout, easy to get to sensors, heaters. makes sense if look at it long enough.

SOURCE: Sub zero 532 ice maker

When my repair tech came out, he showed me that the fill tube sometimes retracts toward the rear of the freezer. He simply pulled it forward with a pair of needle nose pliers until it rested in the delivery reservoir. This placement allows the detector to know when the tray is full and shut off; thus not overfilling the freezing tray and/or splashing additional water onto the freezer wall and into the ice cube drawer.

These switches snap into place. Carefully remove them by releasing one side so the panel is not damaged. The above URL will have a picture of a similar switch to the one in question.

Sub zero leaks water

You need to replace that water line, except it's not on top on a 632. And those weren't available in 1994. Do you maybe have a 590?

Icemaker fills and then shortly after refills what would cause this problem

generally its the thermostat in the ice maker. or module head of the ice maker. sometimes the parts of the ice maker cost as much as the whole icemaker it self , so when looking at parts get a price on a complete icemaker

Ice maker stopped making ice

If ice maker is not filling with water then fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If ice maker cycles and then does not refill then this points to water control valve. If that happens replace water control valve. Ifice maker does nothing but freeze water to ice then the ice maker will need replaced or parts causing problem fixed. Please call Sub Zero at 1-800-222-7820 and they will refer you to one of their six authorized parts and service centers. Thank You, Sea Breeze

The ice-cube maker on our Sub-Zero 650 has stopped making ice.

try replace the cheapest part first.( vater valve). you only need 2 components to make ice. water valve and ice maker.is simple and easy water valve located in the bottom part of the unit. remove the kick plate. left side. and color blue. ice maker inside the freezer. (DISCONECT POWER BEFORE SERVICE. ALSO TURN WATER SUPPLY OFF.) try main box , garage. and water meter outside your house. good luck

Ice maker will not stop!

You are going to have to replace the dispensor module. Go to http://www.subzero.com/locator/locator.aspx?type=0&zip= for your local parts distributor or service agent. The factory number is 800-222-7820 and they are very helpful.

Sub-Zero 550 - freezer unit is chilling, but not freezing

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.

My subZero Model 245 Icemaker stopped making ice

Ice maker, I don't know where you can find the manual but I'll give you a few ideas of what to look for. First make sure that the inlet tube is not frozen over. Next, look at the center gear on the module and see if the clips in the center are not broken. If so you will have to replace the module. The ejector blades should be at the 2:00 position when home. If you get a jumper wire and jump T to H, this will by pass the bi-metal and run a cycle. The ice maker should fill at around the 12:00 position. Test points L & N will verify if you have 120v to the ice-maker. Test points L & H will test the resistance of the heater, 72 ohms. plus or minus 10%. Hope this gets you going, Catriver...post back.
