The picture on our Sony TV Model KP-43HT20 recently became distorted, concaving at top and bottom. If I use reset the Flash Focus, the picture will return to full screen side for awhile but the colors do not line up.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

• Screen Looks 3D
• Colors wont align
• Video may look distorted

Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms

• Dull looking video
• White looking video
• Halos around objects
• Red/Orange looking video

Remove unshielded speakers or other metallic objects near the TV. It can cause picture distortion.

1. Tune the TV to channel or cable program.
   
2. Run the TV for at least 30 minutes.
3. Press FLASH FOCUS on the front panel of the TV.
4. A cross pattern appears and FLASH FOCUS begins to
   work. The adjustment is completed when the cross pattern becomes white and you are returned to the program you were watching.

You cannot perform any other functions until FLASH FOCUS has
completed its cycle. If you perform any other operation while FLASH FOCUS is in progress, FLASH FOCUS operation is canceled.

Behind the front cover you will see a little plastic box with six phillips headed dials. They only move 180 degrees. The three on the bottom control color richness and the three above them control focus. Turn all three of the bottom ones to the left while the TV is on, then gradually turn them to the right until you get the color you want. NOTE if any one of the three bottom dials are too far up the TV will shut down and will continue to turn off after about 10 seconds after start up until the offending dial is turned back a little.

your tv needs to be looked at by a professional tech..it may need reconverged..

thats usually a convergence IC failure, Are you able to move the red and blue colors in the convergence adjustment menu?

Sounds like some kinda convergence problem. Can you post an image please?

Replace STK-392-110s or 150s upgrade with 180s replace both ics.

you can get it your tv fix the problem is in the IF amp and video circuit.a convergence will also be neeeded.the tv is old but can give you some more life call a tech they will be your tv doc.
