Remove the battery, and connect the AC power. Then, try to start it.
Disconnect the AC power, and remove the "new" disk-drive.
Then, connect the AC power, and try to start it.
Disconnect the AC power. Remove the "new" RAM, and put the "old" RAM back in.
Then, connect the AC power, and try to start it.
If it does start, add the "new" disk-drive, and try again.
If it does start, add the "new" RAM, and try again.

We now know the issue was with the new RAM cards. The ones we bought were listed as compatible with our machine, but they clearly are not. Where does one go from here? Could the fact that the old RAM is 1GB 2Rx16 and the new ones are 2 GB2Rx8 be the problem? We are learning as we go.
