Try pushing the source/select button to make the projector look for a source. It is the button that looks like a bent arrow right in the middle of the 4 arrow buttons.
I selected the source/select button using more than one cable. The "searching" box appeared in the lower left corner for 10 seconds, then the Toshiba "choose freedom" default screen came back up. I've tried selecting "reset" in through the Menu and no luck as well. Any guesses?
The only other thing I can think of is that most projectors have a native resolution of 1025 x 768. Most of those will recognize and project at higher resolutions, but some won't. You might try lowering the resolution of your laptop to see if that helps. I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything else.
