How can i send my phon nummber from my htc to my laptap

Hi
The lack of touch screen capability is a bit limiting but I found two HTC sites which you may find useful. The first is for the HTC sync programme which can be downloaded here:
HTC END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
and installed to a PC, and enables you to synchronise all sorts of things with a PC. Just click on "accept license" and then download to your PC and install. Then connect your phone to the PC, preferably via USB as it tends to be more reliable than WiFi and also the computer automatically recognises the phone when it is plugged in. It should have a backup section on it but if it doesn't you can get details for using the cloud here:
Using HTC Backup
this may not be as useful as you may not be able to access the phone through the PC and cloud as easily as just the PC, without the touch screen.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

How do you get the upgrade the htc hero to 2.1

Getting Started

Before you run the ROM Update Utility (RUU), make sure you have done the following:

  • Backed up the data on your device.
  • Standby or hibernation mode of your PC has been disabled.
  • Close all running applications on the PC.
  • Set aside approximately 25 minutes to allow the device to update.
  • Charged the battery to at least 30%.
  1. Download HTC Sync for Android.

Install the HTC Sync software on your PC if it is not already installed. This software was included in your HTC Hero gift box. The minimum required HTC Sync version is 2.0.28. We have HTC Sync for Android 2.0.40 available for download; newer versions might be available from www.htc.com.

HTC Sync for Android 2.0.40 (39MB)

  2. Download the Hero 2.1 MR Upgrade executable file.

    Hero 2.1 Upgrade (113MB)

  3. Connect your HTC Hero to your PC.

    Use the supplied USB cable.

If the HTC Sync application appears on the screen of your PC, you may simply dismiss the wizard by pressing the Cancel button.

  4. Run the Hero 2.1 MR Upgrade RUU file.

Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update for your HTC Hero
WARNING: During the upgrade process, do not attempt to make/receive calls, press any buttons on your device or disconnect the device from the USB cable as this will stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable!

If you have a problem with the connection between your device and PC be sure to check the connection type in your device. This can be done in the device via Settings -> Connect to PC. Ensure that HTC Sync is selected.

Htc hero wont connect to my windows 7 laptop

As far as I know, you should have HTC Sync installed and running on your PC. It can be found here, anyway.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.

How *** mt bluetooth on my htc hero phone does.t

Bluetooth on the Hero is a very crippled version due to the chip that HTC decided to use. It can only be used to connect a headset and will not do anything else. You cannot transfer files, you cannot sync to your pc with it and you cannot use voice commands.

Note that this is not simply a limitation of the current version of the Android operating system. The Hero simply lacks the hardware to have a full range of Bluetooth services and most of HTC's current generation of phones, even the Windows Mobile ones, have the same limitation.

I want Modem Driver for HTC Hero phone using sprint network

Using the HTC Hero as a USB Modem
In order to use this functionality, the HTC Sync software must be installed onto the PC first (http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/synchronise-htc-hero-microsoft-outlook).
The HTC Sync installer is included on the SD card that comes in the Hero sales package, or alternatively is available for download from our FTP site:
ftp://ftpaccess:[email protected]/Technical%20Support...
You can download the software to your PC, or insert the microSD card into a suitable reader to access the software.
Once installed, on the Hero device browse to Settings --> Wireless Controls and enable the option to enable Mobile Network Sharing. Now connect the Hero to the PC via the supplied USB cable. Windows will detect the new hardware automatically and install an "HTC Remote NDIS Network Adapter": Provided that your Hero has a cellular data connection, you will now be able to use that connection from your PC.

First you have to connect the device to a computer with the delivered usb-cable. Then there will be asked for "ActiveSync" or "Diskdrive" : choose Diskdrive. Then browse to your files and select the music you want. Copy it and paste it into your phone connected to your pc.
