Check out your motor control board near the floor on the right side. These have a high failure rate on the Neptunes. Maytag redesigned both the motor and motor control board to be more reliable. While inspecting this board, you are looking for a blown 10 amp fuse and /or burnt components. If you have either... then you will need the the new motor conversion kit which includes the motor, motor control board and the wire harness.
These kits are offered on the www.neptunewaxmotor.com order form and they ship UPS Ground.
This kit takes about an hour to install.
Don't forget to see the info on the website regarding the defective door latch wax motor that will eventually fail and damage your machine control board.

I chickened out on fixing it myself and took it to the shop today. Like an old chevy truck, easy fix, but the new ones with computer chips etc.,go to the shop! Thanks neptune dude, at least they won't be able to rip me off as easily knowing what they are dealing with!!!
I have a MAH4000AWW that will not spin. When it gets to the cycle where the tumble motor should turn, the washer turns off. I removed the motor control bd. and found a shorted zener diode and a burned resistor. I replaced both but have the same problem. The only identifier on the diode was "15"which I assumed to be a 15v zener. Please hekp.
Some how the washer does not turn on any cycle. When you start the cycle it gets full of water but tumbler does not turn. Remove back cover and remove belt. Motor does not turn at all, while the machine is trying to go through cycles. Before it stop working machine was doing a growling sound and all of the sudden stop working. Could it be the motor itself? HELP!!!
maytag neptune does not stop filling unless you shut it off
