Hi i just replaced the Lamp on my Sharp XV-Z91 dlp multimedia projector, the projector turned on but before i could reset the lamp timer it went into standby mode. Now the Power and Lamp indicators are red and projector will not come out of Standby mode. Please help

i have tried the reset sequence mentioned in the Manual ( power on, input, undo, left, enter, right, power on) but it does nothing is there another way to hard reset the projector lamp timer. The lamp is out of warranty so i am ok to try anything before i take it to sharp. I am fairly technical so any instructions would be ok

I understand your problem. If u set the lamp properly then It may cause the lamp circuit need repair.

Have you got yellow lamp indication before change the lamp? If occur then you have been late to change it. If you used it up to 2500hrs. then this problem may arise.

check those first if everything ok
then may be the circuit have some problem, go to the nearest sharp authorize service center. or visit website

Ravi,

I just read the manual for the projector. It clearly says that the lamp, if used for more than 2400 hours, will send the projector into standby mode. And then it should be taken to the nearest Sharp Service Center. Please do that. It means that the breakout from the standby mode is very technical and should be handled by trained technicians of Sharp.

Reset the lamp timer.
1,Connect the power cord.
2,While simultaneously holding down "menu","enter" and "down" on the projector, press "standby/On" on the projector and keep all four buttons pressed down until the lamp indicator starts blinking green.
"LAMP 0000H" is displayed, indicating that the lamp timer is reset.

You must reset the lamp timer. Check the manual or sharp website for instruction how to reset the timer after changing the lamp

You don't mention whether the power light is on as well. IF you are seeing red lights for both power and lamp, there is a problem with the circuitry, beyond just the lamp. unfortunately this is very common. The unit will likely need a new ballast circuit.

SHARP XV-Z91E Projector Replaced lamp but

hold down menu, enter, and down arrow, then press power. this is the only way to reset the lamp timer. if it won't turn on and there are no leds lit, you may have to reset the bimetal breaker. to do so, remove the 6 bottom screws and the top 2 screws on the back panel, and remove the top case. on the front side of the lamp housing, you will see a red button. press it. if it clicks, it is reset. if it doesn't, it wasn't tripped, and you have a power supply issue.
