My XBox live connection keeps dropping out in the middle of a game. It can be working fine for a couple of hours and then it drops out for no apparent reason...have to reset the router and modem and restart XBox and usually this fixes the problem but not always. Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you supposed to keep the firewall off for this to work, or is it alright to re-enable it?

    Thanks,

Homefront for Xbox 360 Live keeps dropping internet connection, How can I fix this?

I know this was a common problem for players a month or so ago but THQ released a patch that seemed to resolve the issue. Did you download the patch for the game? If you go into your network settings on your Xbox, does the NAT report as being open?

How do you set up xbox live?

Here is a relatively simple guide that will assist you in getting your Xbox connected to Xbox LIVE:

http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox360/xboxlive/getconnected/hcxl/getstarted.aspx

There are currently two options, Xbox LIVE Free and Xbox LIVE Gold. If you wish to play multiplayer games, you'll need a Gold account. Xbox 360 consoles come with a time-limited trial of Xbox LIVE Gold.

Connection Interrupted on Xbox Live with COD

To me it sounds like you are having a DSL problem. If you are not up to calling your ISP for a trouble call, try playing at a friends house with your console and see if the problem happens there also. If it has no problems, then you know your console is not the culprit. You could also try connecting directly to your modem and bypassing the router for testing purposes. If a direct connect to modem works, then look at your router.

Linksys is PnP with Live. You should not have to open any ports. If you get to the point during troubleshooting that you know for sure it is your router, reset it to default settings.

MTU to low on xbox 360. Anybody else seen this?

I felt really stupid when I spent a couple hours trying to fix this. XBox Live is down today, June 16, 2009 until late tonight or early tommorow. No one's XBox Live connection is working right now.

Xbox live connection keeps crashing.

Hi,

problems usually happen, when the signal strength drops.
I,d suggest hard-wiring the 360 to the PC or router, for optimal performance.

Thankyou for using fixya.
