The following information regarding Print Head is taken from Website. Please go through carefully.
Print heads are very sensitive from the type of ribbons you use. These textile tapes, used as consumable in dot matrix printers are made by special technologies. They are impregnated with ink and special oils, which lubricate the print head wires during printing. While print head works, the quantity of ink and lubricant in ribbon exhausts, and the quality of printed matter gradually declines. When this quantity goes down below certain limits the ribbon begins wear to threads. These fine textile fibers mix with cellulose filaments from the paper and form a dark gray dust. This is a sure sign that the ribbon is dangerously worn and must be changed with a new one. Otherwise you will soon need a print head repair service.
Still not satisfied about those points, please get in touch with local authorized printer service engineer to set right the issue.
