You likely have a faulty door lock assembly, which is what this fault code is telling you. Most often caused by a faulty switch within the lock assembly itself, you will need to replace the entire assembly. The part is available HERE .

I have a front loading Bosch washing machine and it was working fine on Friday. On Saturday morning I went to take a load of clothes out and the door won't open - I am getting an E13 signal. My...

Hi!

The door lock uses electrical power to keep the door closed. Unplug the machine from electrical power and the lock will be released in a couple of minutes. Please be sure not to flood the room if the water level inside is above the door level.

Regarding the E13 error itself, it means too long draining time, and it can be caused commonly by something stuck in the drain filter. To get to this filter and clean it, you have to look at the lower part of the machine and remove the circular panel, then insert a little screwdriver into the hole and twist , the acces pannel will get open. Now twist the handle of the filter and pull it out. Now it can be cleaned. CAUTION: opening the filter will cause all water inside the machine to get out, so have some towels handy to avoid water to spread all over the floor.

Hope it helped,

Door won't open. wash cycle did not completely finish, still showed 1 minute to go after 2 hours. Turned it off, but cannot open door. F22 flashing; checked manual; hit Start button twice, several times....

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(No guarantee but try this!)
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

Good luck!

Whirlpool front load washing machine (Duet Sport) is Flashing a F-21 and F22 code and will not spin and drain.?????

The drain is clogged. remove the bottom kick panel. should be 3 or 4 1/4" nuts. open drain pump slowly. you may want to have a container to catch the water and some towels. check drain pump for foreign objects. also check the drain hose. make sure its not kinked or clogged. also check electrical connection to the pump.
if all the above have been checked and the unit still doesn't drain, then you may need to replace the drain pump

Is there a screen in the washer

there is located at the bottom front of washer a filter screen that should be checked from time to time and can cause fault codes and functioning problems if dirty... remove bottom cover on front of washer there are 2 to 3 screws located near the floor and the front lower panel can be removed.there is a plastic clean out cap that can be removed (be advised there is about a gallon of water in these things so have a few large towekls available to catch the water or a good shop vac as your taking the cap off which unscrews start a shop vac up to catch the water or have the towels ready.... also while doing this unplug unit you do not want to get water on any electrical parts in the unit... check screen inside and run your fingers in the clean out and check impeller for loose change..also check the hose that comes to the clean out as sometimes loose material can be sitting in it as well and when water pressure runs through it will be pushed up into clean out....good luck to you

The check drain and check inlet lights are flashing constantly on my miele w 2240 washing machine

I have a Miele W502.
Both lights flashing usually is caused by a water leak into the case of the machine which trips the float switch in the base. You can reset this by tipping the machine forwards at 45 degrees and allowing the water to drain out on to the floor. It will reset everything but if you still have a leak it will trip ou again due to the float switch.

I had the same problem with the 2 red lights flashing, which was fixed by emptying the float tray as above.
On further investigation I found that the door seal had rubbed on itself at the 6 o'clock position and had worn a small hole which was causing the water leak.

To replace or repair the Door Seal you will need to remove the front panel.

1. Turn power off and unplug machine after opening door.

2. Remove the front panel lower kick plate by inserting a thin ruler between the kick plate and front panel about 4 inches from each end and lever down until it releases.

3. Remove the 2 screws at the door lock switch on the front panel.

4. With the kick plate removed you will see 2 screws at each lower edge of the front panel, remove these 4 screws.

5. Remove the spring loaded band from around the edge of the door seal facing you and after that release the seal from the front panel and push in.

6. Remove the hex bolt from the 6 o'clock position just below the door seal on the front panel.

7. You should now be able to lower the front panel out of the locating pins and remove it.

8. With front panel removed you will be able to remove the tensioning band which holds the door seal in place around the drum by undoing the screw at the right hand side of the band at the 3 o'clock position. It is accessible from above with a long bladed screwdriver. Take note of how far it is tensioned on the thread of the screw and try not to undo it all the way or you may lose the nut on the band.

9. Once you have removed the band, slip the seal off the drum and slide the water outlet to the seal from the dispenser.

10. When you replace the seal do not do the tensioning band up too tightly or you will hear it squeak when you spin the drum in either direction.

11.Reassembly is the reverse of removal, taking care to put the door manual release strap through the inner slot in the front panel.

I repaired my door seal with Silicone Sealant and loose weave fabric tape after rubbing it clean with alcohol as i didn't want to pay $100 for a new seal from Miele.

F 22

Hi,

If I got the issue correct you are getting the F22 error on your whirlpool washer. I would request you to please try these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Follow these steps:

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with a 2 x 4, it makes access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

Sure this would help:

God Bless

Wash Arms not spinning --Dishes not clean

Without the model number of your Maytag number, I can not determine if when you order a wash pump motor you also get the impeller.
Sounds like you are on the right path to getting your dishwasher to wash dishes again.
Oh, while you have the dishwasher open, check that the heating element has not failed using a Multimeter.

Good Luck!

Bosch frontload washer will not drain

Hello Mamma5, It sounds like the drain pump is either seized or jammed. The drain pump has an anti jam device in it. Since you have figured out how to get into the drain pump, try turning the inpeller in the back. It will be a little hard to turn as the magnets in the motor will fight you on this. Look close in case there is anykind of thread wrapped around the inpeller. If so, then you can free the pump. If you cannot free it to run, advise the repairman what you found so he can bring a drain pump with him.
Hope this helps.
