On subzero morning few days ago my 93 240 had trouble starting. tried about 7-8 times and finally it would not even attempt to turn over. The dash lights go dim as if its drawing power but nothing is turning. I changed battery still no crank.

Check for spark and if there is any way, check for codes.

the timing belt will not have anything to do with the motor turning over trying to start. First make sure u do have a very strong battery. Could be a bad connection or a broken wire to starter also.

Get the trouble code that is stored in the computer.This can get us in the right direction.

check your battery. i had the same problem two months ago. i thought it was the alternator or starter , but the shop said i my battery wouldn't keep a charge.

try if this works\improves your situation;

turn the key to ON but don't crank, let it sit for 2 seconds. Do this 2-3 times, then put it in the ON position, wait 2 seconds then crank. As for what it is, could be spark plugs, fuel pump\line issue, etc..

I would say fuel filter but it may be the pump going out, the filter is easier change out so I would try that first. Hope this helps Tim

wow, well its def a electrical issue.this almost same thing happened to my buddie 2000 trans am,the dealership replaced the ecm after 2 or 3 trips in there.his dash lights did the same thing and he had trouble starting it to,just not as regular as your problem.

sence you have had bad gas you will need to replace the inine fuel filter this should fix the starting problem but i would beleave you have a O2 sensor that needs to be replaced

could be water seeping in to the computer harness at the firewall (you did it was only when it was parked at an angle? )
