The Husqvarna 128LD trimmer does accept attachments; however it does not accept Husqvarna attachments.

The 128LD is designed to accept only lower consumer quality "Expand-It", "EZ Link", and "TrimmerPlus" attachments; which includes those from Ryobi, Toro, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, John Deere, Homelite, and Poulan. It uses a different connector head than the Husqvarna attachments. Husqvarna currently does not even list it on their website. Husqvarna's only information on the 128LD is buried at http://husqvarna2.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/603 .

Having a more reliable Husqvarna power head is great, however Husqvarna and Lowes should be upfront that the 128LD is not supported by Husqvarna's higher grade attachments. The 128LDX; which does accept Husqvarna attachments and is available through dealer's, is the same price as the LD.

Specs for the 128LD are located here:

TrimmerPlus attachments work just fine with the 128LD detachable shaft.

I think there may be a miss understaning here, the 125LD is a split shaft machine and there are a number of attachments for it, there are two grades, pro attachments from the 327LD machine short hedge trimmer, long hedge trimmer, brush, pole saw,and rotivator, from the consumer side there is a hedge trimmer, pole saw, blower, edger, and cultivator, all are available from any Husqvarna dealership, the pro attachments are obviously much more expensive.

Unfortunately, this answer is incorrect; the 128LD is a convertible trimmer.

The 128LD is not a convertable trimmer. It does not have various attachments like, blowers, pole trimmers etc available. Husqvarna only offers replacement trimmer heads and blades as accessories for this model.

The Husqvarna 128LD trimmer is a convertible trimmer, but only uses Ryobi, Toro, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, John Deere, Homelite, or Poulan "Expand-It", "EZ Link", or "TrimmerPlus" attachments.

Unfortunately, it does not have the same connector as that used for Husqvarna attachments and cannot use them.

I was told at the dealer that the 128ld was made to sell at lowes and home dept stores and to take the same attachments as the other brands that they sell
the 128ldx only takes the Husqvarna brand of attachments
if your doing heavy work and need best attachments get the 128ldx but for a homeowner the 128ld will save you 40-50% on attachments

How do I install a brush cutter on my 128LD trimmer?

The 128LD is a detachable shaft machine, there are a number of attachments, hedge trimmer, brush cutter, brush, blower etc, there is a alloy clamp at the bottom of the machines tube, just push the attachment tube into the clamp, there is a locating hole so as you know it is fully home, now screw the clamping screw fully down to lock in place

Husqvarna SRM 225 It starts fine but dies once you give it gas.

I was having the same issue with my 128LD string trimmer. I called a local Husqvarna service dealer and they told me the issue was a result of the ethanol in the gas. They suggested I find ethanol-free gas (aka 'Pure Gas') and try it. [http://www.pure-gas.org/ was the best resource I could find for this]

After disposing of my old gas and filling the trimmer with premium grade, ethanol-free gas (with Husqvarna brand oil mix) and applying 3 squirts of carburetor cleaner to the carb, it runs radically better.

I hope that helps you too. I know how frustrating that can be.
