We have a Creda Cooker model No. 43945 and it has developed the following fault :
The top oven and the main oven do not heat and the neon light for them does not work. However, the grill works perfectly.
This happened suddenly and we have checked to ensure that the current coming in is operating.

sounds like the ffd is at fault, this is a safety device that alows the main flow of gas through. when the cooker is cleaned the sensor can be moved by accident from its position over the flame, another reason could be a build up of grease etc, stopping the flame reaching the sensor. if none of these then the ffd unit needs to be replaced. they are about £20.00 for the part

Frpm the sympton's you list, I would say that the main oven element has failed, espsecially if the fan is working o/k.
The element is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
In addition to the grill elements in the top oven compartment, there is an additional base element which you can't see.
If you turn the top oven on, the base of the compartment should get hot, if it does not, then the base element has probably failed.

You have to remove the complete top assy as one unit. To do this you need to remove the side panels, there are screws at the rear, and some at the front of the oven, you will then be able to see the screws securing the top
The top then slides towards the rear, then you can gain access to the timer unit.
