When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

When my speed queen starts a low quick banging noise is heard. tried low loads but same noise

A Speed Queen top-load washer making a banging sound at the beginning of the cycle could be a sign of a few problems. You could examine the following:
  • Size of load: Check to see that you are not overfilling the washer. The water and clothes should be about 3/4 full in the washer. Overloading the washer can result in the drum becoming unbalanced and making banging sounds.
  • Leveling: Verify that the washer is level. If not, reposition the washer's feet until it is level. A washer that is out of balance can also make banging sounds.
  • Spring elements: Examine the suspension springs at the drum's top. The drum may slam against the washer's sides if one of them has broken or come loose.
  • Motor: The motor might be the source of the banging sound. The washer may vibrate and make banging sounds if the motor is loose or damaged.

Missing mount springs

There should be 3 or 4 springs on a washer depending on the brand. Its mainly for extract but it does hold tub in place.

The tub moves to freely and bangs on the washer sides

The tub shouldn't bang on the inside of the washer cabinet, as you already know. That is not a "normal" way for it to fail. Rather, I suspect something else. First try this: If you have your washer right next to your dryer, the washer itself is probably banging against the dryer during specific times during the wash - but most likely during the spin cycle. If you spread them apart a little bit - or stuff a towel or two between them, you may find that it stops banging. The washer may also be hitting something other the dry, too. Check all around the washer - try to keep and inch or two between it and anything else. If it still is banging - then something else is causing it.

Good luck!

Every time my machine starts to spin faster it starts making a very loud banging noise

One cause could be that the washer is not levelled evenly on all sides. You can get yourself a water level" u get all shapes & sizes" preferably a small circular one place it on top of the washer make sure it is centred, then level or balance the washer. Most washers have a screw type stands where you can raise or lower it functions just like a screw.

Before you start with the legs, when water level placed on the washer, look to see where the bubble is? If it is in the centre then your washer is levelled, indicating that something is loose in the washer, but 9 out of 10 the washer is not levelled.

Loose drum bangs during spin cycle turn by hand with nothing in drum and still bangs?

your front drum support blocks have failed. remove the tub and, replace or, rebolt them in place so they hold the drum front in place.

My kenmore washer is banging really loud during the spin cycle

there are springs on the suspension of the tub if one of them is broken r worn out the tub will not balance and will bang had to replace them on my washer and it fixed the problem instantly just make sure that you take a picture of how they are placed on the drum because the frame for the washer is universal and fits different tubs that have different spring placements
