T8000C I'm having same problem. However, can't get the unit off the wall - afraid to use too much force - can't see any locking tabs previously suggested - can u help?

That control box is very complicated and you should find some old merc mechanic to do that. The steering is very basic and will either have a wire wound cable that spools on to the steering hub, or a flat rack and pinion style which can go together either top or bottom. So try it out and reverse it if it steers backward.

The peg has a lock tab on it. It may have 2 tabs but you use a putty knife or a knife blade to push the locking tab(s) toward the center of the peg stem to release it. I have had to use 2 putty knives and diagonal cutting pliers to release some of these. The putty knife is used to keep from scratching up the inner cabinet. A short thin bladed knife like a pocket or paring knife works best to unlatch these. Sometimes you have to release on side... hold it at an angle and then release the other side. Also....... you can warm it up a bit with a hand held hair dryer to make it easier to move around and release the lock tab.

I would say that you have one of two issues. Either your thermostat is bad or you do not have 24v coming from the heating unit. In this case the problem would be in the low voltage circuit of the heater. At the heater you should have 24v AC when you place an electric meter across the R terminal and the C or W terminal. If you have no vaoltage across the R to either the C or W then you have a bad transformer or a blown fuse in the furnace. If you do have voltage ther and also at the t-stat then the t-stat has gone bad, replace it.

the thermostat could be bad. It may have gone bad on its own or due to a short in the supply wiring. Sometimes mice will chew on the wiring in the wall that leads to the thermostat. But I wouls change the thermostat. They do go bad. Make sure you turn the inside unit off first in case you accidently touch wires together. This will blow the transformer inside the unit if the fuse doesn't blow first. I even scene thermostats with fuses inside. So you may want to take the thermostat apart and check for inside fuse also.

This unit doesn't require a battery. It runs off the 24v from the unit. Check that your transformer is still working. Check the control board for 24v pwr. and main pwr. Check your breaker to the unit. It could be as simple as a bad stat too. You can check by using a jumper wire and jumping across from r term. to y term.

Unfortunately, you are going to have to force it out.

I am quite surprised you didn't have to force it to go in, but none the less, don't be afraid to apply a little pressure to remove it.

If you apply equal pressure to both ends of the cartridge while trying to remove it, you shouldn't end up damaging anything. You may knock the pull tab off the new cartriged, but the printer itself is pretty ruggid, and you shouldnt cause any damage.
