I have a Frigidaire ES200/300 Ceramic Cooktop range. The front burners turn on and off excessively to the point it is very hard to cook on them. I know there are limiters that do this to insure the cooktop is not damaged, but these seem to have degraded to the point it takes forever to boil water. Yes, our pots are flat and smooth with no designs. Should I just order a limiter and see if it fixes it?

You can check the element from the switch on the control panel. Unplug the oven, remove the back and put an ohm meter on r1 and r2 terminals to check resistance. If it shows open then the element is bad. If it shows resistance then replace the switch. To remove the top there should be screws under the front part of the top which you can see when you lower the door then just lift up. You won't be removing just the glass.

What holds the spring assembly onto the bar assembly is just two small prongs. Use a pliers on the end that protrudes through the bar, squeezing the prongs together, and it should come out fairly easily.

sorry, but no there is nothing available to repair the top. nothing will stay. the material is fired on in the manufacturing process. the only option, (if you can;t live with the blemish is to replace the top.

Check your warranty first. Some burners on smooth tops had long warrantys. If not first turn the power off to the unit at the breaker. If this is a in counter cooktop it has to come out of the counter and take all the screws out that hold down the top. Best to unwire from house and move whole unit to big surface to work on.
