Throw rugs are dripping wet after washing. My washer doesn't have just a spin cycle, so I have to rinse and spin. This still doesn't help. Every rug I wash comes out dripping.

The washer is likely detecting an off balance load with only a rug or two. You may want to try and put more rugs or old towles in to offer a counter balance to alleviate off balance condition. Or, you may consider washing the rugs at a commercial facility. They really are hard on the residential machines, especially if they come apart or the backing comes off.

Maytag centennial washer not working properly in Normal cycle. After it shuts off there is still water in the bottom of the tub. I can move the dial to another setting such as Casual cycle or Heavy Duty...

We have the same problem. The Normal cycle still works, but after the final spin cycle, water is again added (1 gal est.) and the machine stops. Problem occurred after washing an old 25 x 30 inch rug which partially disentegrated when washed. We were seeing particles of the rug in subsequent wash cycles during drain into laundry tub. Don't know if something is plugged in the washer or if it is something else. In another load after the rug wash, the top of the washer was lifted during the wash cycle. The water problem occurred immediately after lifting the lid as the wash load went through remaining cycles. Maybe this affected the timer? Maytag customer service suggested unplugging power cord to re-set timer. This didn't make any difference. We need a technician to tell us if this is a timer problem or something else?

We washed a throw rug and it oversuds. Removed the rugs and suds. Now the washer won't rinse or spin.

Hi - Im unsure what would have caused this problem - try this though as I think the pump may actually be glogged.

Advance the machine to spin and see if the pump would operate? - if it doesn't the you need to sccoop the water out and clear out the pump..

I will come back to check if you have sorted this out a little later..

When washing a throw rug, I need extra spin but it won't seem to let me set the extra spin option...what am I doing wrong?

it could be a defalt for the paticular cycle your washing the rug on to not allow for an extra spin. try a normal or heavy duty cycle.

I have a hotpoint wm54 and it is not rinsing or spinning properly, at the end of the cycle the clothes are dripping wet & soapy, however if i manually put on to rinse and spin it seems to work!

You need to check and clean the pump filter.
Remove rear panel od washer, locate and remove large black hose on bottom of drum, remove and clean filter inside the hose.

Was washing my kitchen rug and on the rinse and spin cycle I got an error message, perhaps because the rug was too heavy when wet to spin. I took rug out, water standing in washer, tried to clear error and...

With the Door Lock display on (which is what the red key indicates), are you able to open and close the door?
If so, you probably have a defective door lock assembly. Try unplugging your machine for a couple of minutes and plug it back in to see if it resets itself.

After a wash cycle, the letters UE appeared in the timer window..

UE = Unbalance error.
try to use a low spin speed with loads like rugs, and try to get as even a load as possible. (ie: not just one rug) Don't wash rubber backed rugs, as the backing can break up and clog your machine.

Now, if you are successful washing with the lowest spin speed, you can hold the " Spin Speed " button in while pressing on the power button. Release power button. Now release the spin speed button. Now, press the spin speed button until the next higher spin speed from your last successful spin. Press start. Your washer should now pump out and attempt to reach the new spin speed, without adding any water. (usually about a 14 minute pump and spin cycle) Don't expect to be able to spin out rugs at a high spin speed.
