Cant erase

To select your message to erase depress REC/STOP button. Then "scroll" thru recordings by using the "rocker" style switch on the upper right side of recorder labeled INDEX. When you have the recording on the LCD display you wish to erase, depress the ERASE button for more than a second and release when the display starts blinking "ERASE" - then depress the ERASE button again and the recording will be erased. Do the same for each numbered recording to fully erase all recordings.

How to erase recordings on the Panasonic RR-US500

I called the Future Shop where I bought the recorder and the salesman looked at the manual online and saw that the Delete instructions do not tell you what you need to know.

To Erase or Delete recordings from this recorder, you have to select the track or file you want to erase, hit the Erase button, see that track number flashing THEN hold the Erase button down for a full second.

You can toggle until ALL comes up and then erase all your files at once if you wish.

You can also hit the Erase button first and then select the track you want recorded. The important thing to know is that you then have to see the number flashing THEN hold the Erase button down for a full second.

How to erase tapes

In reading the pamphlet that came with mine, I noticed that it says that when a recording is made , the previous recording is automatically erased. I guess you can only erase it by recording over it, which is stupid.....I can't believe they didn't put an erase button on it!
