I HAVE A KP-65WV700 SONY PROJECTOR. WHEN I TURN IT ON, I SEE THE IMAGE BUT AFTER 1 OR 2 MINUTES THE SCREEN GETS COMPLETELY RED.

This is symptom of defective red picture tube in TV that needs to be replaced.

If you know how to adjust G2 (screen) volt adjustment then increase a little bit screen volts of red and green lamp.

Blue Gun is right side of TV if you look in TV from back side. Part number is as follows..

You need to adjust Green screen drive control your green tube could be shorting out.

Sounds like the screen drivers for the blue and green projection CRTs sre possibly going south, or it could possibly be the CRTs(picture tubes) themselves going bad, although it would be highly unlikely for two tubes to go south at the same time. My money would be on the control circuits (screen drivers).

The easiest way to troubleshoot this problem would be to obtain a can of circuit cooler from an electronics supply house and determine the area on the motherboard where the screen drivers reside; then turn on the set and let it heat up until the problem occurs, and then carefully spray (one at a time) the components in the screen drivers area. When you hit the faulty component (probably a chip), the problem should clear --- until that part heats up to failure point again.

Determine the part #, obtain a replacement part, replace it and hopefuly the problem will be solved.

The last time I encountered a similar problem in the real world, it turned out to be a cracked circuit board, and all of the intermittently broken circuit lands had to be bridged by resoldering over the cracked area... a tedious and time consuming process.

If the set is still covered under warranty, let Sony fix it... any attempts by you could void the warranty!

You have a bad blue picture tube. If you replace it the red and green will be weak and probably go sooner than you think. Everytime I had to replace a tube in a sony projo tv i had to replace all 3 picture tubes at the same time. It's very expensive if you don't have any type of warranty coverage.
