I walked by my microwave the other day and noticed it was off - no lights - no display - no fan. I plugged something else into the outlet and it worked. So there is something wrong with the microwave itself. I read about someone else with the same problem and the solution which talked about a fuse, but how do you get to the fuse?

Microwave fuses are normally located either on a filter board near where the power cord comes in, behind the control panel between the door switches, or behind the control panel in a hodler, sometimes on the floor of the chassis.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

At our site, we have a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can find an authorized Panasonic servicer here.

You can order Panasonic parts from Tritronics, but if you don't find what you're looking for there, try here.

SOURCE: Panasonic Microwave NN-T993SF has no power

most microwaves do have an internal ceramic fuse either 15 amp or 20 amp the cover has to come off to locate it usually at the top just behind the control board. do not touch the high voltage capacitor as it holds a charge even when the unit is unplugged.

This is actually most likely happening due to either the Magnetron, or the Power Diode, or both, has broken down, under load, and then the unit detects the fault condition, & then, for safety reasons, to avoid a fire or explosion, shuts down the system, and will not start the magnetron up.
You need to take it in to be looked at please obtain a "Quote" before proceeding with any work. This way you can decide to repair or replace.

My microwave recently stop working then I unplug it then start working then after few days I need to keep unplug it works but not working at all when I on it the display shows see the manual

Could be the outlet that it is plugged in,turn the circuit breaker off, wait a few minutes, then try again ,or it is pulling to much power from the outlet, something else might be pulling from it,maybe try plugging it in somewhere else.

1. Microwave noise 2. keyboard and beeping

Make sure oven is plugged into a grounded outlet, and that the outlet is actually grounded.
Although extremely rare, I have seen ovens where insects were walking on the back side of a control panel, and causing problems. Could also just be some sort of electronic failure.

Why is my GE Advantium SCA2001 blowing the main fuse?

Yeah pal, you've not gone deep enough yet. You'll find a power wire bare inside the unit, pull it apart and tape that wire up to stop it from grounding out and blowing the fuse.

Hi I have a Samsung SMH9187 micowave that is dead (no display, light, fan, mirowave).

Sounds like the main fuse blew. It's either near where the power cord enters the cabinet, or behind the control panel (if an over the range unit).

You may also have some type of failure in the high voltage circuit; based on your description of the symptoms.

Blown fuse inside of unit. Must find out why fuse blew, something shorted or bad connections.

make this test and fix it. God bless you

  1. Inspect the power cordUnplug the power cord and check for voltage at the outlet. Also inspect for damage, shorts, or burn marks that can be a possible safety hazard.
  2. Bad door switchIf your microwave does not work at all and you know everything is plugged in properly and the outlet is functioning, then also check the door hooks and the door release button. Using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check your terminals. When your microwave door is closed you should have a reading of zero. Once the door is open the reading should change to infinity. If these readings do not match up, replacement of the door switch is necessary.
  3. Blown fusesTo determine if your fuse has blown out, which may attribute to your microwave not running, you need to pull the fuse out using a pair of fuse pullers. Lay it down and using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check both ends of the fuse in question. If you do not get a reading of zero, then you will need to replace the fuse.
  4. Bad fan motorLocate the fan and remove the leads. Again using the volt-ohm meter on RX1, check the terminals. If an infinity reading is displayed, it means that the fan has gone bad and requires replacement.

Kenmore Ultra Wave microwave Model # 665.61652 Quit Working

There are fuses in the unit but why did they go bad? something else has to go bad to cause the fuse to blow, unless the fuse got old or had bad connections at the fuse holder. Can try a new fuse then run and see if it works. Just don't run it empty, just put a container of water in it to test. If it works check all connections and see if any are loose or browned like it has been hot. That's where your problem will be.
