I had the same problem. Very frustrating. I simply unplugged the main phone station and plugged it back in--that reset everything.

Magicjack problems

The basic MagicJack device must run thru your computer and must have the software installed and verified thru MagicJack's server via your internet browser. Not doing any of these things will result in no dialtone.
The MagicJack Plus device doesn't need to use a computer.

Phone shows a voice mail but no message on phone

The phone's voice mail indicator works with the voice mail function from your phone service provider. When your line is busy or goes unanswered (depending on how it's set up), the message is recorded by your service provider at their end, and you need to retrieve it. Most systems give a "stutter dialtone" when you pick up the phone to make a call (a few short bursts of dialtone before it becomes steady) to tell you when there's a waiting message. The message waiting light on the phone lets you know in case you don't pick the phone often.

Once you pick up your voice mail the light will go out and the dialtone will go back to normal. Check with your service provider for how to do it.

We have a Merlin System, the phones are MLX-10D, we have to dial outgoing calls 3-4 times before the call will go through. Now we're receiving complaints that incoming calls are just ringing and we don't...

Sounds like one (or more) of your lines are out in your telephone system. Each time you press a 9 for a line the system simulates a dialtone to see what your dialing next so it can check it against the automatic route selection table. After it checks, it pulls a line out of a pool group to complete the call. At this point its grabbing a line that is not working on the system. The best way to figure out which ones arent working is to check the lines on the main console by pressing each line button and seeing if it produces dialtone. More than likely(but not allways) its going to be a line problem from your dialtone provider.

I am trying to help a church in NY with an Avaya system prob

Are you saying that line 3 does not work? Are you sure its not the dialtone? You could swap the cables going into line 2 and line 3, see if the problem follows the port or the dialtone.

Lines 1 & 3 won't break dialtone on Merlin 410

Unfortunately no. The merlin 410 was an early phone system that didn't have much in the way of programming.

MITEL 5303 Conf Ph

These are analog only phones using a POTs line if you've connected everything properly and all the cables are in fine condition no broken conductors or anything it should work. If the keypad lights up you only need to hit the very buttom button and you should get a dialtone. To make a call you may need to dial a 9 or 909 (depending on the phone system programming) to get an outside line if this connected on an anolog line through a PBX. Probably first test it using a working faxline. If you do not get a dialtone and all cabling looks good it maybe that keypad got dropped. I have one that has been knocked off of a table - someone tripped over the cord - noone will admit it but through testing I've discovered it's in the keypad end, symptons being no dialtone.

Not able to fax due to no dialtone?

Check the phone line with a regular phone and listen for a dial-tone.

Phone not working. I left it unpluged all night to reboot. Same proplen. No service in or out. Badse keeps flashing "Welcome Please wait"

Pls check if the intercom function works. If yes, then the base is simply waiting for the presence of a dialtone on the telephone line. It would be required to check your telephone wire connections. Further, if you have an extension telephone, pls verify that indeed you have dialtone along the same line. In most instances, you may need to contact your phone provider to verify service.

If no intercom function, it may simply need pairing again or redo the initial install setup.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
