Maytag SAV5710AWW squeals when it spins, I don't know if it's a bearing or a belt. Also it doesn't spin the water out every time. Lately most of the time it agitates during the wash cycle, then the 'cycle' knob moves through all the cycles to the end without ever draining the wash water. I open the lid thinking the load is done, only to find out that its still full of sudsy water. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Best guess is the drain pump, replace it.

SOURCE: washer won't spin

Could be a worn belt,
Empty the machine and tilt backwards, you may need some help to do this.
Remove the belt and check, some times these appear OK but may have stretched.
Chech the agitator pully, try to rotate, will only move in one direction, see agitator moving as you do, get the person helping you to see this.
Check the motor moves freely on the tensioner, motor will appear to move 2".
Fit a new belt and try.

SOURCE: MAYTAG top loader makes high pitched squeal when agitating/spinni

This is a classic symptom of pulley/motor shafts/bearings in need of lubrication. It's not the agitator. You'll need to take the back off (with power unplugged) to access.

Loose belts on Maytag Washer LAT2300AAE

It is normal for the belts on this model to be loose. Normally the noise that you are hearing is either the damper (a white plastic type material, comes in a kit) or the pump making the noise. Take the belt off the pump and put it into a spin cycle and see if you hear it. If so ck the tub bearing for rust or leaking and the damper for wear. If you don't here it, ck the pump.

Clothes still wet

Usually due to blockage in filter or hose or pump, but may be motor brushes not spinning drum to proper speed

My maytag model no.mav4755aww makes a whinning sound at the beginning of the spin cycle

Hi
Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.Since you hear whining it means that the bearing is damaged and the seals on bearing are gone too so it rotates without lubricant. It might be possible to hear whining while you rotate empty drum manually...
Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.
Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing. Then replacing the bearing is suggested.

My maytag washer model #sav5710aww shakes badly and

if its a neptune front load washer you need new tub lip seal and bearings for the drum as the seal is leaking water into the bearings that hold the inner drum,it will only get worse, you need to remove the inner drumto replace the seals and bearing it takes from 2 to 6 hours depending how hard the old bearings come out of the race

When entering spin cycle, making a loud noise. I

Check your belt it may be lose. A lose belt will cause a squealing noise and the machine spin slower or take time to come up to full speed

Maytag belt problem

Sounds like a partially seized component. The belt will work under average load, but when it reaches spin cycle where it must run at high speed it may be encountering too much resistance from the component that it is spinning. Was there a whining or squealing sound? Did you notice any smoke or odour? Perhaps a failed bearing may be to blame, or an errant piece of clothing. My machine is a Maytag front loader and I can easily turn the drum with my fingertips. I don't know what machine you have, but basic mechanics tells me that the motor is spinning and the piece the motor is trying to spin via the belt is resisting. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi, I have a Maytag Washing Machine. Model Number: LAT7793ABV It seems to wash fine, but when it gets to the "Spin" part of the wash, sometimes it doesn't spin, and if it does spin, the clothes...

Several items can cause no spin or slow spin. I'm assuming the motor runs during spin and the water all drains out. A worn or damaged belt can cause your problem. Always replace the drive belt and pump belt at the same time.

Check for smooth and non binding motion of the motor in it's carriage.

A failing bearing (either tub bearing or spin bearing) will restrict tub motion in spin.

A garment in between the inner and outer tub will also restrict tub spin performance.

Maytag Performa PAV2300AWW screaching noise, belt problem, pulley broke

My Maytag Performa was making the loud squealing noise. I changed out the water pump/bearing, took care of the problem.
Putting a new belt on just help burn up the bearing (they needed replacing) and probably ruined the new belt. Probably seized the water pump bearing and the belt jumped and broke the motor pully. A washing machine motor is very strong, when that h20 pump bearing seized (or possibly some bearings jamed up) the motor kept on turning that belt and the plastic pully gave in. You'll need to replace that also. If the h20 pumb bearing is turning freely, likely the bearings jammed up but or now loose. That bearing should be tight, no slack or play in it. You can probably wobble the pully on it all around while turning it. The slightest slack is too much.
