Samsung CLP-315W Laser Color Printer Logo
Posted on May 09, 2017

I have a samsung CLP-315W that will not print and gives the error: ambient temperature sensor error This error started after I tried to shake the toner cartridges when they were low. Turned it off and on a zillion times. Left it off for a week and still no change. The manual has trouble shooting tips for "high" or "low" temperature errors that involve the fuser unit which would require service...is this error related? Where is this sensor, can I clean it? Will this go away if I just get new toner cartridges?

SOURCE: Replacement fuser unit for Samsung CLP-510

The part number you need is JC96-03239C-N

You may order it through this website; you'll need to call them for pricing information. They are a reputable company that I use to obtain parts.

Thanks and please give this solution a thumbs up rating, solving your problem.

SOURCE: ML 3561ND engine fuser. low heat error??????

It's in the onboard computer system itself. This is a pre-set by the company that is designed to force you to service the unit, buy parts, etc., whether you need them or not. It is dirty pool I agree, but unless you know how to get into the machine's maintenance menu to re-set all those factory settings, you are pretty much screwed.

This is a nice printer, and what Samsung has done here is a travesty to our trash problem. It will turn out that it is much cheaper to just buy a new printer and toss the one you have, ergo, you are throwing away a perfectly good working printer all because the greedy foreign corporation knows "Stupid Americans" will buy more and more.

There is a way to get in, but it is VERY hard to do, but you are welcome to try:

You can enter the menu in this way:

Start up the machine with push in the buttons "online" and "cancel"
--You will see the message "Download mode press online key"
Press about 15 times the "menu" key
--You will see the message "Uncheck consumable mode"
Press about 15 times "menu" and 5 times "enter"
--You will see "Press access key"
Press a few enters
Press 3 times "cancel"
Go to the EDC mode
-- you will see "press access key"
Press "cancel"
Go to maintenance and initialize the parts you like to reset.

(sometimes you have to try a few times; don't wait to long between each of the steps)

Your printers are NOT broken. It is all in the design and how the likes of Samsung, Sanyo, Toshiba, etc., have figured out a way to screw Americans over, why, it's the favorite Euro/Asian pastime, see how many times you can get brainless Americans to buy your product over and over and over and over, on and on ad nauseum.

I wish you all much luck!

Now, here is what I did, and I do NOT recommend it:

I went to Comp USA and found the floor model. I wrote down the serial number off the back, went home and called Samsung with that serial number - and I was told "Your printer is still under warranty, we'll send someone to your home to repair or replace" How lovely of them. And replace it they did. Now, I haven't gotten the error message with this one, but if I do, I'll do the same thing again. Screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice . . . . .

Check the cable in the door. There is a cable that goes to the sensor in the door, it will come loose when the door is accidentally bumped loose and pulls the cable out of the socket. There are the two hinges on the ends, two guide posts, and a flat cover, the cable is under the cover.

most likly hood is your exit sensor is faulty. The printer work in this way. if it does not print out all the document. it will print again. that is why you kept getting this same issue after a jam open and close door it will print again.

Cleaning my unit resulted in the solution of this problem. I removed the toner cartridges, the imaging unit, and the waste bin, opened the back door as well, and blew it out with "canned air". This will not solve all problems, but it is the right place to start. be careful to keep the imaging unit out of bright light when you you have it out of the printer.

Paper jams. I have one of these printers. Do not over fill the paper tray. Make sure the paper path is clear (See owners manual). Make sure the paper is relatively dust free and give the paper a good shake or shuffle before adding to the tray.

You did not mention if the paper was just not picking up or if it was stuck in the printer?

There is an "opto coupler" in the main drive gear unit (right ride of machine) which controls the drive to the toner/dev units. If this (or part of the drive) is faulty it will give this error.
