Turn the remote upside down. On the bottom (end away from the front), there is a small cover and the cover has a small tab on one side. Squeeze the tab and pull the battery tray out. The replacement battery is a CR2025. Put the new battery in with the + sign facing up (exposed). Reinsert the battery tray and push all the way in until it clicks.

First thing to do is: make sure, remote is working. Use your cell phone's camera to look at the front of the remote through. Push "power" button. Working remote will start emit infrared pulses or just light up. you can't see it with your ***** eyes, but camera can and let you see it. If remote works, then you may try to use universal remote to confirm operations. If none of remotes turn your set on/off, then the problem is inside of your TV. sensor or adjacent board is bad. that requires repair of your TV. If you can handle it, go ahead, pull it apart. But first, make sure you can get replacement board. "shopjimmy.com" might help you. enter the model# on search and they will show all available parts.

If your brand of TV does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
1. Turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold SETuntil the Red Light blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Enter in 9 - 9 - 1. The Red Light will blink twice.
4. While pointing the remote control at the TV and press and release the CH + key until the TV turns off. (Note: You may need to press [CH+] numerous times).
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the TV.
5. Press SETonce to lock in the code. The Red Light will blink twice.

After power on the dvd, open the tray and put any video dvd in and close it, wait for about a minute, then press Setup or any button on remote control, if it work then need to replace with the new battery CR2025.

Did you try using the volume button *on* the TV rather than your remote control? If so, did it work? If it did work, then the problem is with your remote control and you should get a new one.

Hi Quad, recently I also got same recorder and faced the same problem with the remote controller. today i tried to solve this. i opened it up. it turned out the battery connections are not proper. The battery connection are in the form of a spring coil which touches the outerside of the battery which is not touching properly. I bent and slight lift it with a plier and it started working. The other connection is touching front side of the battery(on backside you see label cr2025 printed) and this is alright. I hope it works for you too. with best regards
